I’m gonna put together some of the things that others have suggested: * Protect the wood underneath by using a silicone or rubber mat from a bbq store. * Use aluminium foil to line the bottom of the bbq for the coals to keep it clean. * That section is gonna need to be sealed up from underneath with a plate of steel or it’s gonna get dirt and rocks inside. * Grill needs to be secured for travelling or it’s gonna vibrate and jump around while driving.

The grill slide looks AMAZING guys! How about using a grill mat under the grill to deflect the heat? They come in pretty big sheets and you cut to fit whatever area you need. They are usually used on top of the actual grill grates of gas grills so for what you’re using them for would work great! They have black and a copper color. 👍🏻

Good work "Team Adventure". The griller is only big enough for 2 meals. But it looks Far Out fantastic.
@kevinfleming99192 жыл бұрын
The charcoal grill is cool but you also have to worry about embers blowing out in a wind and RV spots that won't let you use them for fire concerns. You already have propane in the RV so you could run a line to a propane grill easily, or use a Coleman classic style portable grill or the newer "tabletop" grill, both of which are designed not to overheat the surface they sit on, or a "Mr Bar-B-Q Portable LP Gas Grill" has the look kind of like the charcoal one you have now. You can hook up to your propane line, or use a 20 lb tank, or the 1 lb small bottles. You will also save on having to buy and store dirty charcoal, and waiting for it to cool down/go out and finding a way to dispose of the ashes!

Add another vote to making an aluminum floor to go under the compartment. It will keep the lift out mechanism in so much nicer condition. Plus l would consider a stop so the door doesn't swing all the way down. If you make it stop at 90 degrees it makes another work bench/stand/table if you leave the BBQ shelf in the compartment. Or even under the BBQ table when it's pulled out and raised into position. Plus if the door were to come open on the road it wouldn't be swinging freely to get damaged or try to pull the frame out of the RV. Nice work in any event.

Go to Walmart or a hardware store and buy a grate just big enuff to fit,but hold the charcoal off the bottom of the grill. Or make your own out of aluminum angle and heavy duty 1/2" square hardware cloth.
