Childhood dreams do come true!!! When your back yard is a wreck and you want to do something fun and crazy before you completely redo it....what does one do?.....build a mini golf course of course! 🤩
This is actually only part 1 (first 10 holes) of the course. We are waiting for a tree removal guy to clean up the back yard and then we will complete the last 8 holes. That video will be coming soon, I promise. I hope this video inspires and helps with your own ideas to build something amazing and fun that will create memories that will last a lifetime. Life is just too short to be boring and frugal all the time.
If you have any questions about anything you see in the video, just throw it in the comments. I'm pretty good about responding.
Thanks so much for watching and make sure to subscribe so you don't miss part 2 😉
Be blessed!

You can see more of the build and completed course on part 2 which is now posted on my channel. We used a couple scrap 2x4s to frame in the hole and then screw to it. Just drill small pilot holes and you will be good to go. We actually used the hole saw that we cut out holes with and cut a bunch of circles and stacked them up. We just screwed them to the board. I think we used about 11-13 sheets for the first 10 holes. In total it took about 28 or so to finish 18. We got bigger and better towards the end. Check out part 2.

Awesome work! QQ what about the rain? Is that wood rain resistant?
@nocoastangling
@nocoastangling Жыл бұрын
Not really. We drilled a bunch of holes so water would not just stand on top of them and the glue that we used for the carpet kinda acts like a sealer as well. It is 3 years old at this point and we have only had to reinforce a couple spots that started to get soft.

one thing im wondering, after having that for a while, do you recommend making some of the holes 4ft wide or keeping them 2-3ft wide? asking because i am undecided as to whether to make it wide enough so that people can stand on it, or if they should putt standing on the ground. your thoughts?
@nocoastangling
@nocoastangling Жыл бұрын
Great question! If financing wasn’t an issue and the space you have available to build it was big enough, I would make it bigger for sure. Although, most people still stand on the edge of the playing surface and we really haven’t had any complaints from anyone. The whole thing in its entirety pretty much blows people minds and so that makes up for the smaller scale. We went to Branson a few weeks ago and played like 10 rounds of mini golf at 6 different places and my youngest said we should have build out holes as big as some of those. It would have cost us $80k to build holes like that. 🤷🏻‍♂️ But if I could I would make them larger. Check out part 2 on my channel. It will show it completed.

@nocoastangling
@nocoastangling 10 ай бұрын
Yes we have a loop d loop on our course. We used metal flashing that you can buy in a roll to form the loop and then thick hose on the edges to contain the ball as it goes around. We used 1x2’s to build a frame to hold it upright from the top. It was kinda cumbersome for sure. It was probably the signal item that took the most time and engineering to get it right but trial and error goes along way.
