Hey everyone back with more Scrap Mechanic Survival! Today we're going to try building a new vehicle that has an explosive launching turret on the back! We're hoping that with this turret we can instantly destroy any of the big red farmbots before they do any damage!

1. Set Kan's camera to Strict Follow, do not move the camera 2. Have Kosmo reload the explosive 3. Aim the turret at the ground near the farmbot 4. Shoot 5. Aim camera at where the explosive ended up 6. Repeat steps 2~5 Also use a 4 wide seat so the explosive is in the middle of the screen

To your idea of making a base in a packing station, I lucked out in one survival save. The packing station had water right next to it, and I was able to use the static shipping containers across the road for the easiest base of my life. Only ever had to really defend one section since the containers are obviously impervious to bots, and they mostly spawned on the roads rather than near the water. The only "issue" was that the soil plots took on the paint job of the asphalt they were placed on.

The spud gun in the right side may be the cause of the inaccuracy. To fix this, you could either replace the cardboard with the wire things, or you could use 2 spudguns that both detach at the same time.

No, just game don't think BOTS are as hard as ground, they are physical objects, thus explosive canisters don't explode on impact, at least intact ones doesn't

Maybe they should have went for an onager or trebuchet style, like a vertical stick that holds the explosive with a cardboard and spud gun tip so the parabolic trajectory would be easier to predict. Although the problem would be that they wouldn't be able to hit anything not in the arc. Maybe maximize payload?

Since there is a small delay when you used them for mining, maybe this is like a distance problem where it's arming in time when you're really close. They seem to do fine at a distance, and they explode after deflection...at least one of the last ones did. So maybe finding the range where the explosive is primed to explode will help.

I have the same issue with the cardboard not getting shot! Mine has a different purpose of shooting me up to the warehouse roof, but the weird thing is it works if I only have the cardboard or cardboard and a seat, but as soon as I get in the seat, the spud gun no longer works on the cardboard.

Possible solution: Make it so that when the barrel separates and starts flying, a potato cannon shoots at it and it ignites and explodes next to the target, like air defense shells.

Simple, Agro, drive, place two large explosives as you drive and he runs into them and boom he’s dead I tested this yesterday it takes two large ones not sure about small ones though you could also do that while running by but it is no where near as cool a shooting from the truck I think the seat thing would be to attach the fastest turret in existence to the truck. Another option may be to build one of those walker things you have in your own survival world and just do that. My guess as to why it’s doing that thing were it bounces is because of the launch method, it has too high a velocity and that plus the glitch launch is giving the game to much to calculate

Kan it would be easier to just install the chest dispenser into the trucks so you don't have to build it and keep it in your inventory all you do is load the visible chest park it so it is aligned with the hatch and fire away.

The explosions seam to not activate when hitting an entity that is not a player. Now a good way to test this is to try and hit a player directly with an explosive and see if it bounces off. If it doesn’t then it is probably because of the hit-box on the farm bot protects it somehow by it not actually hitting the bot but it does hit the box so it will bounce off.? Just a theory but I don’t know, I haven’t tested these things

The reason behind the bad aim of the explosion cannon is because of the cardboard as when you shoot is the momentum is higher on the side of the cardboard so it will turn

you should probably do some testing and make some sort of aiming reticle so you always know where it is going to go

I think the glitch it uses it what causes the problems, you can't always tell where its going to go so a reticle will still be ineffective
