We Built Another Electric Gokart! | DIY Tutorial

What you need to build one.
1. Frame: Shifter Kart Chassis, or any Gokart Chassis
2. Motor: Surron Light Bee or QS Motor (Found on Ebay)
3. Controller: FarDriver 27530 or BAC 4k/8k
4. Battery: 48v- 72v Lithium Battery of your choice
5. Motor Mount: Metal, Blood, Sweat, and tears
6. Drive to Wheels: Surron Chain drive conversion matched with 420 chain and sprocket
7. Wing: 44" Aluminum Amazon Wing
8. Throttle: E-Bike Throttle Box (uses stock go kart throttle cable)

Awesome build guys, but why all the Surron parts? Yes, they are super quality, but you can get even more durable and powerful motors from several souces. Same with controllers. No need to re-purpose the surron stuff, TONS of options out there!

@@Lucas-bq8ei for this kart we just bolted it to the seat. Check out my “We Built Formula Gokarts” video. We mounted them wayyyy better. Also learned a lot after building these ones. We moved the battery, and controller forward.

It’s really complex to get the app working correctly and can be a total nightmare. But next video I can go over the baseline settings in the app with the FarDriver controller.

If u use the stock Surron battery a BAC-controller is overkill and u cant really get the goodies out of it. Then a TORP controller matches better. Even a stock Surron controller works.

It’s called Throttle box. Converts the cable to a electric signal they’re like $30

It’s a surron Light bee motor. 8000w sounds about right. Buy a used surron motor, or check out Electro and Co for full kits.

A super budget build would be $2k if you found good deals and didn’t want to go super fast. This one in this video would cost around $4500 to build cause the battery is $2500.

They’re just standard Race Shifter Kart Wheels. You can get them on Amazon. The controller is what sends power to the motor.

The chassis are Gokart race chassis. We didn’t make them. You can buy them new or find them used on marketplace, which is what we did. They can be hard to find locally.

Electrifying a kart or a bike is so easy it’s actually dangerous. Something goes wrong in a gas engine you’ll only have to deal with frustration

Disconnect the battery and it will run 2 years later. Gas will be gummed up and you'll have to tear down the carb and shit.

@@redbaron2k7 you connect the gokarts standard throttle cable into a e-bike Throttle Box. The original surron had them or you can find any standard 3 wire throttle box online.

That sprocket is temporary while the new sprocket is on order, we rigged it to finish the video (as mentioned in the video). Yah its a old GoKart not a Lamborghini, everything on that thing was rusted or corroded so we used a rubber mallet.
