A bit ironic that the new 2GR-FKS is similar if not slower compared to the previous gen 2GR-FE. 301 HP vs 268 HP at the crank, but I would assume the bottleneck of why it's not quicker is because of the 8-spd transmission vs the traditional 6-spd from the previous model. The newer 8-spd transmission is programmed with lackluster shift points and can't figure out the best gear to be in when you're driving a bit more aggressively. It's just how the engineers programmed the ECU. My 2015 does 0-60 less than 6 seconds and all I have is an SRI intake but I'm sure that decreased my power slightly because it's drawing in hotter air compared to the OEM cold air box. Not that I mind, I rather have a throatier engine sound when I accelerate. Still, it's fun to see how confused people get when they see a camry accelerating faster than them or keeping up with them. Your camry looks clean.

Like in Australia use to work for Toyota and I've driven 100's of Aurion's including a few supercharged TRD Aurions. Given the extra grip and the hot conditions I feel in order to get the best 0-60 time not only do you need the TC off like you have already done but you you may need to stall up amount of revs. Yes too much and you will spin/axel tramp which will be slower but just the right amount and you will go quicker then just mashing the throttle. Also I know the new 10 speeds are a little different and self shift in manual mode but I'm guessing your remapping fixed that. If so beacuse the 2GR-FSE motor is still making good power all the way to the limiter you really need to shift as late as possible, also it means you start with more power in the next gear too.

I have the 2020 XSE V6 and I'm a bit of an old school gearhead who has had many V8 muscle cars and a Grand National that I modded in the past. I can say from 30+ years of experience with stock and modded cars that the 8 speed Toyota transmission is holding the car back. Yea.........if you want to make some noticeable gains on your 8th Gen 2GR-FKS V6 Camry/Avalons. Go and grab yourself a pair of Weapon R catless headers, midpipe, AEM Cold Air Intake, D3 Performance tuner and get a custom dyno tune and gut your trunk for some weight reduction. That’ll only net you around (+/-) 300whp.

Hey guys, so I installed the magnaflow exhaust and noticed I have liquid dripping where the clamps are on the t pipe...have you guys noticed the same thing and is it a problem?
@PerformanceOnWheels4 жыл бұрын
How are you enjoying the Magnaflow? I would have to take a peek to see if this Camry is having the same issue. It is however extremely common to have condensation dripping from the exhaust. Sometimes you can get some soot from the exhaust mixed in with it and people have mistaken that for a fluid leak.

The GSF hasn’t changed in the last decade. You can pick one up slightly used for 50k, and let someone else pay for the initial depreciation. I almost picked one up, but since the introduced the new Acura TL Type S last month, I’m holding out for final specs and pricing from Honda/Acura. Turbo DOHC V6 AWD, RWD biased. No HP Torque numbers yet, but I’m hoping for close to 400.

@PerformanceOnWheels4 жыл бұрын
We are at about 760' above sea level. There are more accurate testing measures for sure. If you read articles on the testing measurements and different devices, your worse case scenario is a couple tenths off. The fancy units take things like car pitch and angles into the equation. Yes we did see 5.8 a handful of times, we have not exceeded that yet however.

Hey, I realize you made this more than a year ago but I have a question. You guys seem like the tune is meh. So what about something like Pedal Monster or Sprint Booster to give you a little more throttle response instead of going for a full tune? I realize you don't actually gain any HP or torque, but at about half the price maybe it would be a good compromise for "in the seat" feel? Thoughts?
@PerformanceOnWheels3 жыл бұрын
I'd try it out. The only real difference we honestly felt with the tune was the throttle response

It's an ecu flash tune. So it was dyno tuned by D3 on the same car. yes some would argue that a specific cartoon would be needed. However, in this case on a naturally aspirated Camry I don't know that that would be worth it.
