Good synopsis of big, predominantly *Blue* cities. I left California in 2020 because the big cities became unrecognizable & unsafe thanks to stupid political, asinine decision-making. Governor Newsom & his ilk falsely believe only housing will fix California’s massive homeless crisis. What’s needed is treatment for addictions and mental health BEFORE offering free or subsidized housing! My new Southern city is clean & safe. Private donations built 36 solar powered, tiny homes for homeless who contribute a small amount of money each month ($300) and agree to remain clean & sober, follow the community rules! No HUD money was used because they require one year leases! Our tiny solar community wants it known that their “forever” homes can be taken away if they don’t comply with the community rules. They can drink alcohol or smoke inside their homes in moderation. As long as it doesn’t turn into addiction & public intoxication. Rules matter! Without them you get San Francisco, Portland and literally other “craphole” cities few want to visit, live there, and support!
