Great video, very informative. I got my Jaguar XF valued by WBAC and when I ignored them, they increased the price twice more. It started at £13,835 then went to £15,000 and finally £15,265. I sold it through Motorway for £16,058.

I had online offer of £5200 for a 14 plate Panda 4x4 with 30k on the clock. After the appointment the offer was £4950. I sold it on Autotrader for £6350 minus the cost of the Advert.

Tried to knock me down £3000, mainly for stone chips, could have completely re sprayed the bonnet for a quarter of that, told them to f*** off they then tried the “ringing the manager” and got the quote back to around £500 less than their initial quote but the lack of trust was already there then,got more than their initial quote part exchanging it

They mainly exist for those people that are desperate for the money. They know that if you turn up, then they will offer you silly money and see what you say.

Reading the comments: So many confident opinions, using guesswork & pulling repair/paint figures out of the air 🤣 this is why WBAC exists, to buy from people who don’t know or understand the car trade. All WBAC vehicles are sold through BCA (car auction), they are sold ‘unseen’ to car traders. It’s a great business model, it was a bargain at £64m in 2013, considering the lady who runs it for bca got over £20m just as a bonus last year.

It’s all about expectations, if you’re honest with the description of your car and happy with the valuation then stick to your guns. I used Motorway and it turned out really well due to the fact that I was honest and the dealer that won the auction was very fair. Ended up getting £k over the original valuation.

They are after "perfect" cars and deduct for scratches, dinks, keys etc. Last year I sold my 3 year old Duster to them for the online quoted price which was £1,000 more than I'd paid for it a year earlier from a dealer. So my experience was a good one.

Total rip off,I got offered a thousand pounds more from a main dealer.
I recently had an evaluation through we buy any car and had the same issue where upon physically seeing it they offered me £600 less. After I took it to Arnold Clark who gave me a much better offer by £1800 from the original quote given by we by any car. If I was to sell another car to a dealership I wouldn't go anywhere else now.

Of course they are going to knock you down....they assume that if you're going there all other options are out or the seller is to lazy/inconvenienced to explore them You have to put in some work for maximum selling price or accept less than its worth. A dealer wants a mark up which is why many people put in the time to sell privately. Some are extremely difficult to sell because they are out of economics or fashion. I don't believe they will buy any car which is why local dealers will reject some...many cars are just not cost effective to repair issues at the price point... unless its a scrapper.....when they will still build in a profit on scrap value.

I was happy enough going down the WBAC route even though I ended up taking £400 less than the online quote. Tried to sell it privately but ended up fielding countless AF scammers who offered double what I was asking for in return for a “small arrangement fee.” The two people that did turn up to see the car were obviously dealers who were looking to get it on the cheap. One of them actually claimed I was more less obliged to sell it to him even though he offered a quarter of the asking price. His reasoning was that I’d put ‘ono’ on the advert and, in the absence of any other offers, his was the nearest. Upon my refusal he then had the nerve to moan that I had wasted HIS time. I may have lost a few hundred selling to WBAC but it was worth it to avoid that grief.

interesting video. We recently put a car through WBAC. the car dealership quoted 250 for part exchange for a 2009 kia proceed this was due to it only having a couple of weeks left on its MOT. the car did have rust issues underneath. to see them you would need to lift it (sub frame front and rear, and suspension arms) but we tried our luck with WBAC they quoted 1500 unseen. this came down to about 1100. this was 4 times as much as the trade in value, they would have taken more for it as well but because it was a 11 year old car they are capped at what they can value them at. in this situation I would take them on their valuation any day of the week. but at the same time, I'd never buy a car from them. and it makes me always do full background checks when looking at cars even from dealerships as it may look good on the outside but horrors can lay with in.

They expect it to be like brand new at 10 years, then when they sell it on at a dealership or whatever at 3-4 times the price they gave you, they say to the customer ‘it’s 10 years old it’s going to have a few snags’ One rule for them and one rule for others clearly ;)

@johnofk5 жыл бұрын
@@robertsouza5576 well the guy took a thorough look at the car, noted down all the little tiny scratches that you'd expect on a 3 year old car, then offered me £8,800 as I have no service history and there's over £800 worth of body work needed, but then said he's willing to give me 7 days to get a service, and all the scratches made for it to be worth the initial offer. So I told him thanks and never went back haha The car is still up my drive

We were going to buy a new car and my wife had a Suzuki SX4. . 38,000 miles, not a scratch, we are retired, no one ever sat in the backseat. We just put all four rotors and brakes and four new tires on the car five months earlier. NADA and Kelley blue book had the cars value at generally around $7800 retail. my wife had picked out a new Honda CRV.. I put my wife’s Suzuki on craigslist. We got a text from webuyanycar.com offering us $2400 for my wife’s car. The first person to come and look at the car Agreed to buy the car for $7500. The new car dealer with the Honda my wife wanted agreed to do a courtesy trade in, as long as our car passed A dealer inspection, even though, a third-party was buying the car from us, it actually turns out that they were buying the car from the Honda dealer. The advantage to us was, we did not have to pay sales tax on $7500 of the new car price.So it was like getting $8025 for my wife’s car since the dealer agreed to do a courtesy trade. keep in mind, we buy any car offered us $2400 for the car.. I got $5025 more for the car then they offered right now. The funny part is, I never asked them to make an offer on our car..
