I remember the first time I heard this song, I fell in love with the vocalists. Dave and Kyle’s voice harmonized beautifully and I absolutely admired the use of singing in metal... So when Kyle died I couldn’t hear a We Came as Romans song much less the first one I heard by them. 7 months ago I heard this song, barely getting into metalcore and deathcore and now this band has laid its initials on my heart. Kyle stood out to me mainly because of how his vocals suited mine. My voice isn’t as high pitched as a girl’s should be but I could sing this song along with Kyle and felt like I was on top of the fucking world... R.I.P Kyle Pavone, one of the best vocalists in the Metal world...

As a very new and budding We Came As Romans fan I feel like I missed out on experiencing Kyle but I can for sure say that you folk that knew WCAR before 2018 for sure had it the best - such a tragic thing that we don't have Kyle around anymore. However, as Architects' song Doomsday says: "They say the good die young, no use in saying what is done is done". The good do indeed die young. Rest in Peace Kyle, you were, are and will continue to be great - in our hearts.

I remember when I was at warped tour in 2013. My dad was sick and in the hospital and had a stroke after his heart and liver transplant. I was in line getting all the band members autographs and told Kyle and the rest of the band members how much they inspired me to keep having faith and stay positive through the hard times. Kyle stood up and gave me a hug and I’ll never forget it. This band cares more about how their music touches their fans lives more than what’s in it for them and that’s what makes this band a true musical legend. Their music goes on in the hearts and souls of others. RIP Kyle, you helped me keep taking that extra step forward.

The build up from 2:11 to 2:21 and the heaviness afterwards is just so fucking good! I was expecting a breakdown the first time I heard it but I love what they did there. Very happy that they, themselves as a band chose to go back to this heavier sound, cause they wanted to, not simply to please fans that didn't like the two previous records. This record promises to be heavy and fuck they're bringing the heat with it. Exciiiiiiiited!
@maxwelld237 жыл бұрын
Luffy Joke Central I too really like that part. Why do you say they did it for themselves and not fans? You don't think poor record sales and criticism played a part at all? I for one am very glad they went back to the heavier sound.
@wessteyrn77467 жыл бұрын
maxwelld23 criticism is part of the game as an artist, unavoidable . But I don't think it was that big of a deal for them to trace back to their roots (see what I did haha). If the last two records were similar sonically to the first records, u'd still have had people complaining as well. They're going back to this style cause they missed it, u can feel it in this song already. Really hope the album will live up to the hype.
@wessteyrn77467 жыл бұрын
GillDoesGames by no mean was the build up weak. Very good use of the synth and sweet drumming in the back while the guitars take a break to kick in. and am really glad it wasn't a typical metalcore breakdown after cause we heard this structure a million times already. It's still considered a breakdown but with more technical and faster riffs.
@unr3quited7 жыл бұрын
Luffy Joke Central not really tbh the whole point of a breakdown is to slow it down and typically drop the tone, but that didn't happen and it fizzled out
@wessteyrn77467 жыл бұрын

These guys have been my favorite band since I was in 7th grade (I'm 23 now), and this is the most stoked I've ever been for a new album of theirs. They were slowly getting lighter over the years, but they promised this new album would be heavy again, and I'm so stoked to see them bring back the WCAR that made me fall in love with their music back then

The song makes me want to fight my depression and knowing that Kyle is gone makes me want to honor him by winning my battle.
