We Can Be Heroes: a rejected cue

daviddas.com -- We Can Be Heroes is a rejected cue from an animation project, a story that deals with grief and tragedy but finding hope in the midst of it. This rough mix of the mockup has been a favorite of mine that ended up on the cutting room floor.

Really nice work, David! Sounds perfect from your description, but we are not the arbiters of our own work sometimes in this profession. I have learned over the years that filmmakers have their reasons for things working or not. The thing I do differently now (as opposed to when I first got into this business) is to never submit anything that I am not 100% happy with, so if they're happy, I'm happy; if they're not, I've got a great piece to show off, or use somewhere else. Looks like you did that here. Congratulations!

Actually this is excellent! perfect example of sophisticated minimalism . Gratulations! To judge if the rejection was fair it depends on how it goes with the story. Anyways, considering the description alone i would never reject it. Great end titles

Good composition. But every time a phrase ends, have a feeling that suddenly pulls out of the carried emotion. Not sure if this was the intended result. Regards.
