As someone who was in a relationship with a cop, I asked him why a cop will ask a person why they were pulled over. His words: “You can pull them over for a stop sign, or a broken taillight, whatever it is. But when you ask them, they may incriminate themselves with something else. Like speeding, registration, etc. The more you catch them on, the more good you as a cop look.” I have so many other stories on the psychological tricks they use. It’s so terrifying how the cops in the U.S. are trained not to help you.

The Swedish police action when I was Speeding 125 KM/h on a 110 km/h highway. I saw this SAAB 95 Aero behind me for a km or so, one driver but no passages. Normally they are two in civil police cars, so I didn’t suspect it was a police car. But then the blue lights came on and I pulled over to the side of the road. The police man came to my car and asked me to come and sit in his police car in front seat. So I very surprised came to his car and opened the door and sat down beside the policeman. He started the conversation “How are you feeling”? I said “I am ok” He continued -“ do you feel stressed? Is everything ok with your family? “ I was surprised again by his questions I. Replied “yes, it’s a little stressful with studies and work, but family is ok” He continued -“ ok good, what you study?” And we talked a little about that. Then he said -“here is a monitor where we can see how fast a car in front of me is driving, and here you can see it say 125 km/h but I take it down to 122 km/h. Do you confess that you were speeding? I said “yes I confess I was speeding” Then we talked some more, and he gave me a ticket of 2000 SEK around 220 dollars, and said “ you have one month to pay it, so don’t worry.” Then he wished me good luck with my studies and that I should breath more and take one thing at the time...... That was probably the nicest traffic policeman on the planet... a older policeman close to pension, driving around and stopping speeding cars and making people to calm down and breath .... Amazing

I guess the homeless should be grateful as there being told everyday to find a new location and that goes for people living in the car/van, imagine being put down, searched and harassed everyday. There are good and bad in everything and I have met a lot of really cool and understanding cops that truly care making a difference. I just think it’s sad that are people in law enforcement that really believe they are good cops, when they stoop as low as the criminal there trying to bust. I mean no morals willing to ruin innocent lives and even go against the constitution, doing whatever it takes to get the criminals and truly believes stands for something. Smh

Honestly wish our police were this cool, I don’t feel safe next to a uniformed officer. Even worse is a judge in America has ruled that a policeman’s job isn’t to protect and serve citizens but to uphold the law (this is involved with a woman asking police to protect her then when they didn’t she died), that shit scares me
@ruangreyling20734 жыл бұрын
Oh no in South Africa you don't feel safe around police, there just isn't that threat that they might shoot you. Mostly because here they could not be bothered to do their job😂 we once called to report a domestic disturbance. An hour later a police station in another town called us back to here what was going on😂

This is not to generalize police by saying all police officers are bad, but the way police are organized and operate in the States is intended to maximize guilty verdicts. Even the question at a traffic stop, "do you know why I pulled you over" is intended to get you to say something self-incriminating. Police interrogations for more serious crimes aren't about getting the facts in order to figure out who a likely suspect is, it's to get a confession out of whoever they're interrogating. Have y'all ever seen a videotape of a police interrogation? It's terrifying. It makes even perfectly innocent people crack and falsely admit guilt. It's disgusting, and it needs to change.

BC) when we arrived to Port Angeles ( now sitting in our car) the immigration officer asked for our passports, and then asked the reason of our trip, my boyfriend said : tourism to what the officer continues and asked WHAT ARE YOU PLANNING TO VISIT? And I almost die when my boyfriend said in a very condescending way: I DON'T KNOW, YOU TELL US WHAT TO VISIT!!omg, needless to say we were invited to get out of the car for full search. I'm not surprised. Several yrs ago I lived very close to Port Huron and would cross over to visit London / other areas in Ontario. The Canadian officers were always so kind but I was treated like a criminal when coming back into my own country (US). One day I felt like telling them it was ok to leave me in Canada if they thought I was a potential threat to the US. I was sure I would get better treatment there. In Bulgaria, "What are we doing now?" and "it involves a 2 litre bottle of Cola" are word-for-word, the two staples of what being pulled over is mostly all about. Like Trevor said, it's a game of respectful banter combined with a two-sided discussion on an appropriate answer to the first question. And being pulled over by a cop who says they 'thought' I was speeding sounds similar to being pulled over by the actual Mickey Mouse.
