Cant help but think you'd have made the job easier by reversing the van in the drive and shovelling the stone straight off the van and not just the slate lol but it does looks brilliant. Lovely job on the granite and drop crossing again. Definitely would've looked into getting the electric gates fixed myself, those gates do look good though. Condolences to the family, especially Bernie and Maureen ❤.

How come you don't use drop on Heavy duty hinges that usually are bolted and screwed. Strap hinges do the job but in time I've had screws either working lose or rusting allowing gate to drop on leading edge. Worked 10 yrs for Local Council as Carpenter/ Joiner and made and replaced many L&B s

That's the trouble with flat hinges and a gate on a driveway sloping up in the direction of the swing - too big a the gap underneath when it's closed.

No snow here in sunny California, Lol!! But I do love snow!! Maine, USA looks absolutely gorgeous when it snows there!! Another great video by D&J doing amazing work!!! I loved your change up with the gate w/ panel! The bigger gate was such a smart move. For the reasons you stated but also it will make things easier if they wanted to bring something bigger down that side area, as well as, it’s actually visibly more appealing!! On your electric gate, I wonder if the mechanism kept messing up and they just got fed up with fixing it! I do love how you always make sure to preserve anything you can for your customers!! That’s why your business is booming!! You always try to what’s best for your customers!! ❤❤❤❤❤

I hated that the customer chose not to fix the electricity on the gates but they turned out awesome. The symmetry between all three gates really gave them character. As always D&J made it work. Condolences for the family loss. Excited to see what happens next.

If Im not very much mistaken, as you requested to comment on the location of the gates you replaced... that would be the river Trent and specifically Hoveringham Road before the sharp left turn that leads onto Boat Lane. Not bad for someone who hasn't lived in Nottingham since the 90's to recognise the area. Very impressed how you manage to cram such a loaded KZbin channel whilst running your business to the high standards you are achieveing on every job you complete. Im a 55 year old landscaper fencer slablayer for many years like your videos you are a good crew of blokes I had to comment for the first time ever just to say your tounge and groove gate is actually a close board gate also i put the water in post holes first then add postcrete and stir it up as you poor in the postcrete with a road pin or batton /stick when you put postcrete in first then add water it doesnt all Mix and remains as powder which has less strenth im not dising you just trying to help were all in same game all the best to you keep up the good work

Steve when you barra stone would it not be easier to start at the farthest point & work backwards so when your knackered you're not pushing the barra as far. Re: electric gates, maybe the householder has had previous with them, locking shut, locking open or sticking in the middle

Brilliant video from the D&J team as always, and in answer to Stevie's question of where are we in Nottingham I have no idea but with that beautiful view I do wish I was there. I loved the gate installs. That granite drop crossing looked amazing but I felt for you lifting those granite curbing stones - I've sent a parcel over the weekend for Stevie to arrive today through amazon but sadly they didn't give the send a message option. The item inside is the same as something I've used many times over the years and has proven to be very useful so hope it will be for you.

Condolences to you and your family. Beautiful setting where them driveway gates were installed. Shame they weren’t electric as the installation looked 90% done already. Excellent gates and install was spot on - great care with fitting them ‘right’ including sorting the lights out. Well done. The side gate was a massive improvement on a panel and gate, well suggested Stevie. I thought you may have put a threshold in on that granite drop kerb between the pavement and the driveway in case they wanted to change the driveway in the future? Dave Birmingham

Hello, fellas, I see you are up to the daily tasks again. lovely jobs, pat the back to all. I don't know why, but my mind was reflecting on your year at D & J projects, and it would amiss if we didn't mention Taffy boy Gold bless him. That said, maybe I can convince you to have a Taffy day next year? with it, you may wish giving 1 lucky customer a surprise free of charge projects naming it Taff's gift. As you know, the government allows up to 10% annual turnover tax free charity, so it shouldn't cost you in real term a thing. What a nice way to remember your mate taff by? Maybe if you feel a customer wouldn't be appropriate, then prephaps a community building or disable centre something along these lines. Please let's us know what you think.

You will never get them existing motors working again, them underground boxes are supposed to be empty, so can only imagine how long they have been decommissioned because of the amount of sand/silt that's in them. I estimate about £2000 to replace and bring the rest of it up to standard safety wise.
