That was the best thing a husband could do for his wife. I wish my best friend's husband would suggest that too. His family keep pressuring her to have a baby coz they want grandkids. When I was 19 I stopped getting my period for over a year. I was told that I was infertile and would never get pregnant naturally. Fast forward 4 years later and my period came back and I actually got pregnant after 2 yrs of trying with my partner and had a healthy baby. I’m back to not having my period. It’s been over a year again, but I’m just thankful that I had the chance to have a baby. Don’t lose hope. You never know what’s in store for you. Basically most of modern medicine is based on the anatomy of men. As an example - heart attack is often linked to chest pains. But in women it's common to get an upset stomach and pain in the lower back as symptoms as well, not necessarily having the explosive pain radiating through chest and arm like it does in men. Medication too - I found out my prescription dose was based on fully grown men who smoke. The medical field is developing thankfully, but so much of what we now know is based on the study of one gender. How is that logical when there's a huge difference between the biology of men and women?

@@ettena93 you have to be aware that some medicines were tested primarily on soldiers who are mostly men. That applies especially much about painkillers. Some countries banned medicine tests on women in child-bearing age after the epidemic of Thalidomide babies in order to prevent deformities in kids that would've otherwise been healthy. Those are the main reasons why the effects of some medicines on men are far more known. But that's the extent it goes to. Don't believe whatever Buzzfeed puts out.

Tell me about I have PCOS and my doctor could care less and just prescribed birth control. BC is a bandaid for PCOS with more research I found out that eating a low carb diet can help getting your period back naturally (and it did)! I also had low libido(due to the BC, I don't take it anymore) and my doctor didn't care to find a solution so I can get it back... but when a man has low libido they have treatments and the doctors take them more serious.

The only thing that helped was low carb (mainly unrefined carbs) high fat high protein diet, if I got my period once in 3-6 month before now I have it every month. People with PCOS already are in a high cardiovascular disease group risk, now imagine prescribing them birth control that actually is bad for their heart.... none of my doctors even said anything about diet and lifestyle change.

I’m so sorry you’ve been dealing with all this, Megan ❤️ First off, it’s honestly so frustrating that so many doctors still just don’t take women’s pain seriously-specifically period pain :( Second, I really wish people would refrain from asking women/couples about their reproductive choices in general. Some people may not be able to have children, some people may be struggling to get pregnant, some people may simply not want children. We don’t know each person/couple’s situation, and we should never just ‘assume’ anything. It’s honestly best not to bring it up at all, and is something that should be brought up by the individual/couple IF they choose to do so. You never know what someone may be going through, after all.

I'm one of the people who don't want children, but whenever people ask me about it I get pissed on behalf of people who are reproductively challenged. For me it's a matter of choice, for others there's years of tears and longing behind the whole process. I said "I can't have children" to a person once just to check their reaction and she went slack jawed and got so embarrassed - on her own behalf. When I went all just kidding I followed up with "but think about this the next time you think a person's uterus is your business." Like they need a reminder by nosy people.

I don't think asking per say is necessarily rude. A friend or close family can genuinely ask out of curiosity about your life plans in general, the same way they may ask about your career plans or buying a house (not that one has to answer). However it seems really widespread for people, close or not, to naggingly ask time and time over when you're having children when you become "of age" to do so. The issue lies not so much in the question itself, but in the tone and repetitiveness of it, alongside the usual answers that come afterwards. Most people don't even realize it, but when a woman says no, they will immediately question her motive for not having children or insinuate that she will eventually come around and change her mind. It's a form of mindless small talk that is truly destructive. Heck, I've even gotten comments along those lines from a cashier at a grocery store. I can't imagine how it would have felt to get comments on my "aging uterus" (note: I'm far from old) had I been trying unsuccessfully...
@suiren5272
@suiren5272 3 жыл бұрын
Ok I agree but to an extent! I think it's the way your posing your question that can come off as rude but it isn't necessarily rude in every circumstance. For example if it comes up in conversation and you're talking family and children then it would be appropriate to ask however if the person has already stated that they do not want children then there is no need for the other person to bring it up ever again in conversation. Then there's people that ask why you don't want children THAT'S when it comes off as insensitive cause why is it your business to know the reason they don't want children?

So being adopted gave me the chance to have a father in my life I would otherwise never know. You can still raise 4 beautiful babies. Not exactly the same... but it’s still love and family, and in some ways the connection is much deeper. I truly owe my parents everything for what I have and have been able to experience. Don’t give up babe.

Totally think that adopting makes a stronger bond in some ways - there’s no ‘accidentally’ adopting a child, and the effort and expense that parents go to in order to adopt shows how much the child is wanted.

@@Laura-vs6fs Hei Laura, i thought so too once, but then i came across quantum physics, epigenetics and neurological science. Especially quantum physics uncovers spirituality on a scientific level. It is proven that there is a field (Higgs field) that connects everyone and everything. All matter is connected on an energetic level, since all particles were once one entity before the expansion of the universe. And we are able to interact with this field actively. You can even heal yourself since sickness and illness is simply chaos on an atomic level. I could write pages about it! If you are interested you should do a little research on your own (look for joe dispenza, bruce liption, Gregg Braden, Heart Math Institue, etc. ) There are many DOI certified articles about this and its bulletproof science. I have subscribed to the scientific journal NATURE ((one of the highest renowned scientifc journals worldwide and they publish the recent scienctific results form researchers all over the world, they have publisehd interesting articles about this too. Just because you do not learn this in school or mainstream sources, doesnt mean it does not exist or is not relevant. I was given this diagnosis after three years of having IUD, with periods. The same month it came out and we were ready to start trying, was the same month my periods stopped. It was soul crushing. I felt the “I feel like I’m failing as a woman” part so hard. I was diagnosed with PCOS when I was 18 and have always wanted kids of my own. It was so hard finding out that my ovaries were so riddled with cysts that doctors told me that having children of my own would be extremely hard and would more then likely require a lot of IVF and there was still a chance it wouldn’t work. I can remember crying to my Mum that I felt like such a failure as a woman, and 4 years later I still get that feeling a lot even though I know being able to carry a child doesn’t define if I’m a woman or not. I’ve been following you since I was 18 and I sincerely hope you and Moon are blessed with all the babies and the big happy family you guys want and deserve ❤️

I will not be putting myself through the stress, pain, anxiety and depression of trying for a baby and not getting pregnant for years, there's also the high possibility of miscarriage..... I just personally can't bring myself to do all of that, for my mental and physical well being I took the decision to adopt if I want children. This is a decision I made based on my personal experience and diagnosis, I support and admire anyone who decides to try and keep trying for a baby, it's just not what I want. as someone who doesn’t even want kids i would still be devastated to find out that i couldn’t get pregnant, not because it devalues me as a woman (because it doesn’t) but because i have been robbed of my right to choose. My mother unfortunately had to have her tubes tied because her last pregnancy almost killed her and even tho she has 12 children she loves being mom, she loved having babies and when the doctors told her she couldn’t have anymore it destroyed her. I have never seen her so utterly devastated and depressed. I’ll be praying for you and for the rona situation to improve. A scare like that has happened to me, I had horrible pain in my abdomen. I went to the doctor and long story short it turned out to be my Crohn's Disease, but when the doctor was doing tests, he gave me antibiotics because they thought it could have been an STI that could then cause pelvic inflammatory disease..which could cause infertility. I literally cried in the hospital because of the exact same reason as you. I felt like I could have possibly lost my right to choose if I wanted to have children or not :( was a horrible feeling. So I can't even imagine how it would be for women who actually cannot naturally have children

I agree sometimes you shouldn't ask personal questions because you never know what a person's situation may be. Some women can't have children and some may not want children; speculating and asking if people are pregnant can trigger many emotions. It's up to an individual to initiate these conversations with their circle of friends, physicians, or in the case of content creators their subscribers when they are ready to.

That makes me so mad! It took me 5 years to get my endo diagnosed with them originally saying "I didnt have it" cause they couldn't see it on the ultrasound. When you cant see endo on an ultrasound.. Long story short, if anyone experiences the same thing, never give up and change doctors until someone takes you serious. As a previously infertile person up until a few months ago, keep fighting your doctors. Our internal pain matters too ❤

AGREED. I have stage 4 endo, have had 5 surgeries, healed the most from diet changes but still have issues and other autoimmune problems. 40, no kids but want them. Also have a prolapsing uterus. I'm at the point where if my eggs are viable and I can, I'll put them on ice and I always wanted to adopt too anyway. But ladies, don't wait - advocate for yourself right out of the gate. I have a great surgeon now, but he can only do so much. So yeah, don't be dismissed - find a doctor/naturopath/whomever who will listen to you and keep looking until the problem is found and then help you with a solution that works for you.

I felt the need to share because i know the feeling especially about wanting to experience pregnancy. I've always loved and wanted kids of my own. When I got married in 2013, my husband and I never verbally said we'd try but we had stopped all contraceptives. Then in 2014, I when my periods started to lessen (to about 1 every 2 months and only lasting 2-3days) i went to my GYN and found out i had PCOS AND a HUGE fibroid/cyst (size of a small melon). I became depressed for years even after removing the fibroid. My period started disappearing more to about 1-2x a year...It was basically my #1goal in life: to give birth to kids.. I was depressed for years and it hurt when people would ask "when are you having babies?" Or even worse "why don't u have kids, u'd be a great mom." My rock bottom was when my younger sister, who is 4 YEARS younger got pregnant immediately after she got married in 2018...i waS so jealous and pissed at GOD. How come it was so easy for her?...It was only in June of last year that I got started to accept and not be jealous or mad.. i became open to the idea of adopting or surrogacy... Then the craziest thing happened, i found out i was pregnant! I hadn't had my period in MONTHS but somehow I conceived. Being 35yr old with pcos, I was High Risk, but God blessed me with no pregnancy issues during this pandemic time..I now have a beautiful healthy 3month old baby girl....I thank God for my miracle baby everyday. I pray that you and Moon will get yours too.

Same thing happened to me. I had extremely low AMH levels and the ultrasound showed that I didnt have any follicles producing eggs in my ovaries. After almost 8-12 months of fertility treatments, taking herbal teas and acupunture, I started getting regular periods again and we got pregnant naturally twice. We are currently 21 weeks pregnant now, but I felt very broken while going through fertility treatments. Good luck to you!

I found out I was infertile when I was 30. I started having really bad hot flashes after I had a copper IUD placed and was off my birth control. I found out I was post-menopausal, not even menopausal, it was already way past that stage. I cried buckets because they couldn’t figure out what happened and usually I always had regular periods with no pain, etc, all my tests came back negative (this means it’s idiopathic). My only options are donor eggs or adoption. Many women suffer from these issues and do not talk about it. I’m also taking a lot of meds...I went from zero to like 10 meds!!! Everyone goes through the grieving process. Please know you aren’t alone. I cannot say I understand your situation because everyone’s situation is different. I’m very happy your husband is so supportive!!!

Your video hit home. I experienced 4 years of infertility and it was so hard to get questions and comments like “when are you going to have kids?” “I can’t wait for you to get pregnant” “it’s going to happen, you have to stop being so stressed about it” etc. Years of crying into my pillow, avoiding church on Mother’s Day, and not being able to go to baby showers. Can definitely relate to feeling broken as a woman. God did bless me eventually with 2 girls but I also had 2 losses and infertility between both girls (6 years apart). I understand your yearning for a child. I also understand yearning for wanting to feel life growing inside you. What helped me is that my worth is not defined by my status as a mom (or not). It doesn’t take away the pain, but it helps a little. It’s natural to feel the way you do. I pray that God will make you feel whole and bring you peace and joy, whatever form it looks like. ❤️

My cousin and his wife struggled to have a child for years. It's a hard road to travel in life. They did 5 rounds of IVF, one surrogate (who lost the baby), and a miscarriage. She was deemded medically unable to have children naturally. Fast forward a year later and they had little Roman completely naturally. Miracles happen and I'm thinking and hoping for you and Moon

Hi, I understand your intent but it's actually not appropriate to share stories like this to infertile people. Because miracles don't happen to everyone and they're rare. And everyone's bodies and reasons for infertility are different. I'm infertile and will never have children, I've tried and tried for years and years and people commenting and sharing stories like this is not "hopeful" to me. It just makes you feel like even more of a failure because you ask yourself all the time well why can't I be the miracle story? And the story always makes it seem like I just haven't tried or waited long enough. Best response to these stories is understanding and prayers. Not diminishing a person's infertility experience which is what you are doing but probably don't realise.

@@jayemzzful I think hope is a mixed bag. My dad was declared sterile when he was younger. His high school sweetheart was with him off and on for over 20 years. They ended up married for over 10 years. They tried for babies constantly with no luck. He cheated on her with my mom, and I popped out of nowhere. They tried some more. Still no luck. Finally, they divorced, and she remarried quickly and had two children back to back. You just never know. People do deserve to know there's a chance the same way they need to know it's very unlikely they will be that tiny chance.... I had sex for like 6 years without getting pregnant before a baby finally popped out. Baby making is a sh*tshow. Hope is what you make of it.

@jayemzzful 3 жыл бұрын
Hey guys, thank you for the replies. They're all valid opinions. To me, these stories aren't hopeful, they can lead to false hope and disappointment. Everyone's trauma and fertility story is different and just because it worked for one couple doesn't mean it will work for another. Sometimes it just doesn't work and the constant pushing of miracle stories can diminish that person's personal journey and makes an already traumatizing experience more heartbreaking. Which is why I believe it's safer to just be understanding and send prayers and love. Everyone is different. What is hopeful to some is heartbreaking to another. Tbh, the stories that uplift me most are the ones where people tell me how fulfilled and happy they are even without children. That they found a way to live a full life. That having children isn't the be all and end all. I'm still hopeful for a baby after more than 7 years of trying and very little likelihood. I hope for a miracle but mostly I hope that whatever happens my husband and I will be okay and we'll be happy regardless. ❤️

This hits me hard. I had twins when I was 16. Clearly I was young and it wasn’t planned so I decided to focus on my girls, college, and work with the understanding that someday I would meet Mr Right and start a family. Thought I met him, and we decided to try. Three weekends ago I was told I needed an emergency hysterectomy & major blood transfusion due to an uncontrollable uterine hemorrhage. Now, the only way for me to have a biological child is to hire a surrogate. Mr Right wasn’t okay with that. I’m 40 and he’s 32, so we both realized kids are no longer an option and he left a week later. I won’t lie, I’m heartbroken, but I don’t blame him. It’s kind of hard to believe you’re not the sum of your reproductive parts when that happens, so I understand your feelings on being broken. Thank Heaven you have your Sister and a loving, supportive husband. Now I’m praying even harder for this Corona crud to go away! I can’t have my dream, but man, I REALLY want to see you have yours! Thank you for being so open with such a painful subject. This had to be so hard to do. Sending love all the way to Korea from Washington State. 💖

Maybe this won't help but incase it does, I was adopted, quite late in comparison to most. My parents are the people that stepped up and truly care for me, the people that love me unconditionally and even as an adult would come running if I ever needed them. My dad is the man I text when I'm upset and feel like I can't talk to anyone. My mother is the person who's hug feels like sunshine and who's cooking is the best I've ever known. These people didn't give birth to me but they did create who I am today, you should see my dad and I argue, I'm definitely his kid 😂 I know adoption isn't the same as having a biological child but to many of us adoptees we don't see our adopted parents as anything other than our "real" parents.

I also get really bad periods. Until last year, I thought that it was normal (I get really irregular periods). While my excruciating pain never lasted more than a day, I got the full deal. I'd get nauseous, vomiting, diarrhoea, period pains without the ability to straighten up. Last year it got so bad that I actually couldn't walk and because of all the things combined, I'd hyperventilate and lose the ability to even move my fingers. When I went to the doctor I have been prescribed some pills (not birth control, because I don't bleed much), I'm not sure how well it's working because of how irregular my periods are. A lot of doctors don't take issues relating to periods seriously, because most are male and they simply don't sympathise, chalking it up to women over-reacting.

Me too, but whenever I went to doctors for 2 years, they told me that it was normal the pain is a part of the cycle and all that but then my dermatologist suspected sth was off about my cycle. I did tests and it turned out I have severe PCOS. It's been 4 years after my dermatologist saved me (well kinda) and now I'm talking pills but it doesn't go away. All I can do is to be strong and curse at all those doctors who say having very bad pains during your irregular cycle is normal

I used to be normal and it hasn't been normal for years - that's usually when you go to the doctor. my doctor was hesitant believing me (bc of my weight, bc ive had a child ect...) but we're now trying treatment for PCOS. being ignored or down played is the worst. it's hard to tell when normal symptoms are actually problematic already so if I'm going, it's bc something is WRONG. We're trying treatment for PCOS and checking for worse as well. I feel ya💚

As a person who can't ever have kids(no uterus) I understand how painful assumptions of pregnancy are or even nice comments like" oh your so pretty your children will be beautiful" its like a shot to the heart every time. Having a supportive partner definitely helps, but in every culture and biologically as women we and other people expect us to be able to have children so its really hard to accept that you cannot or may not be able to have kids and you or at least I did go throught all the stages of grief because I always wanted kids so it was a big lose for me and it took me a long time to acknowledge that. For me first finding out was about losing that dream of getting pregnant and the loss of having a choice I always thought I had. Its one of those things that reminds you to be grateful for the choices we do have and make the most of our lives. I wish you guys both a happy life and have a great family life in whatever way you choose to achieve that dream! and for anyone else who reads this I see having kids as a choice and career it take dedication so it should be something you want and no other reason and for people who can have kids and dont want them I respect you to its your choice and in no way has any connection to your worth as a person!
