So this is so out of the blue, but the more i listen the more he sounds like an absolute Indonesian legend called Iwan Fals (he’s dubbed as the Indonesian Bob Dylan in many ways). And if you’re interested, I would recommend Iwan Fals - Tak Terlupakan for the more pop-y kinda sound and lyric, or Iwan Fals - Galang Rambu Anarki, which has a much more politically charged lyrics but both are amazing songs. You know, when I was a kid Indonesia was more known for their musicians. When it comes to music, they're the biggest in Southeast Asia. Phillippines always had the "proper" singer, but the trends usually comes from Indonesia, just like you said, they have the personality and on top of it they're creative. I remember back then so many Indonesian artist holds tour all over Asia. But honestly right now Indonesian music is not at its best, their mainstream music kinda lose their originality. All of the artists you've reacted aren't really considered as "the star" (except Agnez, Afghan and Isyana), they just popular because Indonesia is really big. They still have amazing artists, its just that they arent in mainstream media that much. But lately with how popular their singing competitions are, more singers are getting known so I hope it can leads Indonesia to a better music industry, I guess One of my favourite is Tulus, I see so many comments requesting him too, so please react to him

Bahasa itself is very influenced by Portuguese if taken from the Latin perspective, the Spanish also came in but it was not often seen in just daily Bahasa usage.
