Thanks for this info. Did you buy the train tickets online or just show up at the station?
@LeavetoRoam5 жыл бұрын
We purchased them the day before at the station. The little train was full so I think buying them ahead of time might be a good option.

It was $6 USD which is cheaper then the bus.

It's cute. They might not need heavy duty trains like India.

That looks like a tram not a train LOL Yeah the Indian trains are long with 24 coaches but can’t beat the Aussie ones like the Indian Pacific or Ghan for train length 😀

When I said I thought it was the mail truck, I was not kidding. This is one strange train, but it got us there in one piece, and on time! Go figure.

I am a Cambodian from South Vietnam now living in Orlando, Florida USA. That is the shortest train I ever saw, it the sizes of our city bus here in Orlando. How long does it take from Kampot to Phnom Penh?
@LeavetoRoam5 жыл бұрын
The ride was really good. I think maybe 3 and a half to 4 hours. It left quite late but arrived on time. It was quicker and much more pleasant than a 'VIP bus'.

That train is from Germany
@LeavetoRoam5 жыл бұрын
@@amazingairspotting8597 I had no idea! It has travelled a long way.
The train doesn't go to the Phnom Penh airport. There is an airport train but we haven't caught it.
@Yellowstone2162 жыл бұрын
The thing is the airport has train tracks so the train can also go to the airport

Come on, cut us some slack man. Had the train be any longer, it would not be sustainable for the railroad company, considering how few people in Cambodia are willing to travel not by their own personal cars.

Sorry if I gave the impression we did not like the train or service. It was a great way to get from Kampot to Phnom Penh and we are recommending it to everyone!
