definitely not common in the big cities, but you can get away with it in nicer parts of the gold coast (where zac lives), the byron bay(where the met up with abi) is 'hippy' (but these days incredibly bougie$$$) your chances of stepping on a dirty needle are relatively low. i would never but that's probably from spending half my life in melbourne and sydney
