For the dents under the stringers: flip the boat over and use epoxy that will self level, then re-drill the holes for the uhmw. Easier than cutting the stringers and replacing the floor.

They fixed the spot in front of the water intake, this is a dent under a stringer that they didn't want to remove stringers to fix. It's causing a hooked-hull effect, proposing in less powerful boats, up and down, up and down the bow goes.

You have a "hook" in your hull. It doesn't take much. A bead of weld at the hull to transom seam will do it. It's a simple trick guys use on aluminum boats to keep the nose down.

Any real concave shape under that boat would probably work a lot like a diffuser and pull the boat lower into the water. Might be worth it to do something about that.

If there's a slight rise in the spine towards the centre stringers it could be essentially creating a vacuum or low pressure area right in the middle of the boat. Fluids and vapour tend to like following edges 😅 like a spoon under a tap

Yep, like trying to pick up a toilet plunger stuck onto a wet smooth surface. The convex space in the middle of the base creates some insane suction when you try to break that bubble. With a boat you're fighting that static effect amplified by the suction from Bernoulli's principle and you get a boat that wants to be the Gordon Murray fan car on the water. I'm not a rocket surgeon but I know boats don't like that

@@Joebobinator Called a hooked hull. That's what caauses the proposing of less powerful boats. Older glass boats can get a hook back near the bottom of the transom and it's like going over whoop-de-doos at idle.

Cleet, what the boat was doing is called bowsteering. Keel Guard is made for the bow. The concave in the bottom is referred to as a hook...creates cavitation & changes the attitude. Ideally having a rocker...positive bow will loosen up the surface helping the bottom break the enertia & put the boat up on plane instead of plowing for oysters. 😂 Don't be That guy...The Manatee Mauler !! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

You guys should build an air tight cockpit for that thing.💯 Kind of like those Coast guard boats were if it capsizes it just flips back over. You could get as aggressive as you wanted with the handling an not worry about rolling. Probably need fresh air system though.

It makes sense that the dew boat has the same top speed especially if the limiter wasn’t increased because it’s the same jet drive and it’s still gonna move the same amount of water it will just get to the max it can flow quicker

The hook in the back of the hull is the reason the bow is being pushed down. Some hulls like the 13’ whaler were designed that way. It allows the boat to run flat on plane with low HP but will not allow the boat to be trimmed out for high speed.

The last little bit of The Month of Freedom, I would have loved one of those 64s. I have a V6 Commodore which for y'all in the Land of the Bald Eagle is an Aussie RWD 3.8 litre powered GM freedom machine that would have been utterly awesome with one of those on it. V8s are good but making 500 RWHP from a V6 would have been pretty damn special as well. Cleeter, brother, we don't all own monster builds. For most folk, even on a V8 a 64 is a lot of turbski, the number of those 88s that will actually be used is small, most will either end up on the shelf or be sold. Realise that we don't all have your budget and that for the average V8 (let alone my V6) a 64mm puffer is a lot of mojo.

It seems to have more bottom end but nothing on top gained..I probably am missing something or remembering wrong... Still wanting a toy like this LOL.. Love the videos showing the after and having to fix things they screw up or damage.. Shows they are human and real and genuine... and that folks is why we love em all... LOL We once wired the horn to a buddies brake lights so everytime he applied the brake his horn started honking ...that was some good times that day.. alot of pissed off people including him.. we later put a switch on it after disconnecting it and claiming it was just a short .. so random times we would switch it on and off ... took about 3 months before he parked it and started going through it and found us out ... it needs someone experienced and setup for hull straightening, just like a frame rack and gear is needed for vehicles. it can be fixed, but maybe not worth the cost/investment. then again, they can probably massage it with some tomfoolery hydraulics, tow motor, giant hammers (large weights dropped in the right spot), but that would likely fracture the stringers and make it weaker, with no way to good way to repair, then needing spars or channel added well past the area. probably better to just scuff/scratch it heavily and bondo/fiberglass mesh fill it flat, then put the skin back over the bottom. 🤔

What you got is essentially some thing many of the 70's jetboats had by design. They call it a hook in the hull. They shape the rear of the hull with what you basically showed with the straight edge. Most guys when refinishing their boats remove the "hook" to go fast.

If what little you did to fix it helped that much think about the performance gains you could have from fixing it correctly. Suggest laying new thin aluminum sheets on the bottom and welding it in place.

Spray a good quality bed liner/ Ryno liner on the bottom of the MtnDew boat. it will produce a cushion of air bubbles underneath the boat to prevent drag on the hull...

You can bend the Stringer back and the floor back very simply. have tye weld on a lifting lug on the bottom of the haul. Strap boat to something solid so it cant move an use a come along an pull the dent out till its flat .

I welded aluminum angle under mine down the middle making a V and on the corners it’s held it pretty solid and takes a lot of the force from hits.
