Do a VIN search on the car and try to reach out to whomever owned it before the insurance company took possession. In some States, it's public record for a fee, in other States you can pay a fee and the State will reach out in your behalf, while the info is completely locked down in other States. It sounds like it's worth the headache or any attorneys you might need to pay to assist with procedural BS. I'll bet that car was heavily modified.

@@robertseitz2407 it is standard procedure to keep all of your stock parts in storage, especially if the car is still under warranty. You mod the hell out of it, brake it, reinstall the stock parts and send it out for warranty repair. Or, which probably happened here, the insurance company did not compensate the last owner for the aftermarket parts, so he pulled them to sell or install on his next car, put the stock parts back on the car so it was "complete." This car was modified before it was wrecked. There's no doubt about that.

@anomamos90953 жыл бұрын
There is one rule in building anything. The easy way is never the easy way you think it’s often harder than the hard way. It looks like they just decided that the way the make the two vehicles mashup was to hack a bit out of the middle. Not knowing what the two look like from underneath and how they compare I can only guess from previous experience that this is not actually the easiest or best thing to do, especially considering that the back end needs to be rebuilt almost entirely anyway. How I would have considered doing it before making any cuts would be to look at moving the rear subframe forwards by about two inches at most , moved the r34 shell back by about two inches and corrected any difference with the wide body kit. By the looks of the newer model and what I’ve seen of the older model the floor pans are so utterly different that they have cut four inches out of the leg room and will probably need race seats on custom mounts to be able to squeeze in.

This is the B is for Build stuff I like to see. I don’t know the layout of the drive train but I thought cutting the 4 and 3/4 inches out of the useless back seat would have made more sense because now cutting it were you did seat rails aren’t going to fit and emergency brakes gotta be relocated. I thought cutting it behind the door but In front of the rear wheels would have been the better option but no ones really done this before so there really isn’t a “proper” way of doing any of it Good shit though I’m excited to see it finished👍
@jokerchris13 жыл бұрын
I was thinking the exact same thing. When they go to put the seats back in, they are going to have less room for the seats to move and it’s not like the back seats are even useful. But cutting were they did was the easiest place to cut. And they will probably weld it back together. Then cut into the back seat area to extend the front seat location.
@tachy6353 жыл бұрын

I’m not doubting that they can’t swap the body over however I don’t think it will ever look right because of the body having to sit so high on the frame when it’s swapped. I think it would have been easier to fab the r35 subframes and drivetrain to mount to the r34 and swap the engine over.
