We are a host family for a student also from Spain! But he got rejected because our high school is filled up with their exchange student spots so he couldn’t come. I’m so sad.

Awesome you guys did this. My family started hosting exchange students since before I was born up until I was a senior in high school. Never had a bad student in my lifetime. All of them are like brothers and sisters to me and we still stay in contact with several of them to this day.

You guys sure are brave to host an exchange student even with the pandemic still going on! Maybe Mayi can teach your little guy to say some words in Spanish as he starts talking a little more! As far as the teeth brushing question, I pretty much brush mine in between hot and room temperature water!

Abbie Price yes, I’m sure Leeland will be saying at least a few words in spanish before she leaves! also, we’re not super brave since we hosted during a pandemic. Mayi was tested for covid before she was able to come overseas, and she tested negative so we weren’t worried. brushing your teeth with cold water is so much more refreshing!! 🤣🤣🙌🏼

You have to sign up to be a foreign exchange student but I don't think you can choose your host family
