We enjoy how you just go riding and exploring...stopping to check out all nature has to offer! That is exactly how we like to explore! Kudos for being on the lookout for trash - we plan on doing the same! Had a great time with you guys, as always! 💙Terry and Terri P.S. We love Cousin Eddie! LOL

Just got back from our first trip to the Ozarks. Way more beautiful than we had anticipated even in December! Love how you're always finding great new spots. Cara, I'm jealous - I would be so carsick,, lol! The trash situation, we have the same issue in Hoosier. I'd imagine it's common in all NF. Have to say that we didn't see a whole lot in Ozarks. We stayed at one campsite that was clearly popular and had to pick up trash (yes, diapers), but otherwise, not bad. I like to make up a story for the mom or dad who did that and how overwhelmed they must have been. Makes me feel better in the moment as I'm picking them up, lol! Gotta hand it to you, we would have left the toilet! Thanks for sharing the day and continuing the conversation. Education.

Lol you found a hunter's toilet. I find those from time to time when I'm bushwacking off trail. I never touch them because when I was a child I saw a hunter that was shot and killed by accident by another hunter and I get those chilling memories. However I agree that the overlanding community and those that avidly camp do a good job cleaning up after these messy people that abuse campsites. I really think most of them are younger families that don't camp very often. Some areas see too many of these types in the summer. Anyway thank you for being you! Ozark overland adventures is the absolute best overlanding channel bar none! Honestly I can't stand those overland channels that are an hour of drone footage over Alaska while playing a bunch of Mary Sue poppins music playing. 🎶 😆 keep it real. Keep it you!

Just wanted to comment on your "why is this here" for that first dead end trail you took. Not fully sure how the Ozarks NF is managed, but where I am further west we have tons and tons of roads, mostly gated, that go 'nowhere'. Many of them I get the joy to explore at work, but other than that they often don't go anywhere or have any nice views. The majority of our roads are used for forest management. Many are either old historical travel routes, or miners roads, or old timber harvest roads. We have very very very few (sadly) 'fun' roads that exist purely for off road entertainment - and even fewer trails that actually require 4wd. Some beautiful places you have over there!
@staceysmith2697 Жыл бұрын
After you crossed the rock bridge & then the big slab you should of went left about a 1/4 mile further up the road , you would have had about a dozen creek crossings , cool camp spots & a neat cemetery at the end . After the old rock foundation when you got to the tee you was only about 15mins from our home. Dude ya had me rolling with the toilet & gagging, a lot of atv riders camp there.

It is incomplete, but it looks like someone tried to build a "thunderbox" with that bucket toilet. I try to make a point to pull out trash when I find it, but some things can stay in the woods. As for how to remove such things??? Best thing IMO would be to come back at a later date with proper PPE, a shovel, and a utility trailer. It was designed to go over a pit latrine. Dig a hole for the waste, fill in the hole after. bad the bucket and toss on a trailer. I have two SIMILAR-ISH camp toilets. one with a closed bucket and one for use in a pit. I also carry a LARGE container of kitty litter. if I am going some place where burrial is not an option I will take the one with a full bottom and a number of trash bags. Despite being one of your "shitier" videos, I love your channel... as a preschooler, my babysitter was from arkansas, my mom used to tell me stories of when I went to arkansas with my babysitter for an overnighter (her folks apparently had a farm I REALLY wanted to see)... I always thought of arkansas as being like the part of Indiana I grew up in. Farms, towns, or woods, but nothing truly scenic. Your channel has given me grounds to reevaluate my preconceptions. It ain't my east tennessee mountains, but you got some lovely scenery there. I am definitely going to have to make a trip out there one of these days, even if it takes a few years.
