Good morning Chuck, I have been with you guys since you first moved to Thailand, I don’t watch every video, but enjoy the ones I watch, you always call it how it is. With the kitchen I love the plan, can’t wait to see it all come together. We have the white double thickness marble in our kitchen, even now it’s 5 years old, it still looks like brand new, all our cupboard doors are polyurethane, easy to clean all soft close cupboards and drawers, with stainless steel hinges.

Aah the fun of remodeling...the cabinet installers do it every day and have run into all the problems before and know what to do so you should be fine. One thing i ran into was if you have the door and window open the extra air circulating will rob the efficiency of the hood exhaust to extract the cooking smells but will work grest with them closed, minor thing but investing in a higher CFM hood makes it easier...i didn't...oops. i love your plan looks great! You can add LV lighting under the cabinet toe kick later as well...good for the midnight refrigerator raiding.555 my 3 cents.

Sounds good but most Asian countries have an area like that for washer/dryer, hanging clothes, cooking smelly foods etc, customary...I'm sure since Chuck has the go ahead he's thought of so many ideas and came up with what works best for everyone ❤

Yeah you made the right decision for going for decent material. We got Ikea cabinets but the moisture and heat in the house here in Bangkok made them start to warp after just a few months.

When I first started on my own 'farang kitchen' building experience I did want to go the IKEA route. IKEA cabinets have a zillion options for them so the kitchen can be whatever you want from basic to fully tricked out. However, I'm in Udon and not close to Bangkok. I could get the cabinets but IKEA does not offer assembly or installation this far away. So, I ended up at HomePro Udon instead. It's not going to be exactly what I had in mind, but it will be close enough for me. (And my wife doesn't care about the 'farang' kitchen one way or the other. "Up to you" 555) Anyway, I'm excited to watch your design and build process.

We had a full western kitchen installed back in 2014 by Homi Kitch here in Chiang Mai. All solid wood cabinets and granite counter tops, stove, oven, hood vent, tile, sink, & hardware. they did such a professional and beautiful job! 8,700.00 USD

I may end up with a request from yai to be adopted but I'm gonna go there anyway 😂.... put a 10 inch round stainles steel shallow style wash sink (with the same type of faucet on the water filter) in the center of the center island.. this will bring the ability to wash during prep while she sits on a stool. Just my 2 cents 😊 water filter in bottom of center island. Maybe ? But will need to jack a small trench in floor for drain and supply.

Do your inlaws keep the home blazing hot inside? We get along well, but I could never live with my in inlaws here in Vietnam just due to the heat. When we visit, I can only go in their living from for 30-40 minutes at a time. Any longer than that and I'm drenched in sweat. They only have air conditioning in the bedrooms. They do have a ginourmous house that takes up an entire city block. It has 18 studio apartments outside of the part they live in. The main living part has 4 bedrooms and 3 levels. When her dad comes to our place he always complains about being cold. Lol

Oh yeah, in my own kitchen design I am having the builder put electrical outlets above the wall cabinets. I'd like to install LED lighting, and like you, will likely do it myself (with IKEA lighting products) but in any event, the electrical outlets will be there in a place where they can't really be seen, and where I can hide all the bulky stuff associated with going from wall power to LED power.
