We Did Not Sign the NDA at Excellence in Punta Cana

The Excellence Resort in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. I go into detail on reviewing their Excellence Club Level Honeymoon Suite with and Ocean View.
This is a room review only. Not an entire resort review. I discuss some things other than the room, but 99% is room review related.
We made this video because we did not find any other video that reviewed a honeymoon suite with an ocean view at this particular resort (as of 9/30/2023).

I saw the portion where the room you book - you were placed in building 10 instead of 2. Any advice on avoiding being placed in building 10 or that side if you have excellence club

I think all we did was ask for that building at check in. We had to wait one night and the room was available for our stay after that. Just request it.

Thank you sooo much for doing this review and all the extra tips. I was considering going through a travel agent but now I feel pretty confident to book on my own. Out of all the Excellence resorts you’ve been to which one is best overall? Idk if I should book Punta Cana, El Carmen or Playa Mujeres. I’m stuck!!! Overall I like this suite the best I think out of all the rooms I’ve seen. Seems like Punta Cana actually has designated Honeymoon suites which is nice!

I have only been to one other, Riviera Maya. And I did not make a video of that one at the time. That one was better, definitely. We had a roof top pool suite at that resort. It was cool. The restaurants were definitely nicer too in Mexico. But we plan to try all Excellence resorts so take your pick.

Hmm interesting! We’ll be staying in the excellence club at EPC soon but it’s just garden view since it’s the last excellence club room they had. It’s good to know that we should request building 1-5. Thanks for posting! It was funny too because I thought the hydrotherapy you described sounded great to me 😂 so looking forward to giving it a try since it’s included

If it’s free, try it. Just don’t pay for the hydrotherapy.

Thank you for this video!! How do they differentiate between Eclub and non club? I don’t see a bracelet so was wondering how they stop the non club people entering the private parts. We got the excellence club package as well and are hopping for a good experience 😊

I think it’s by room number, because when we would go to the club areas on the beach and outside, they would ask your room number before they served you. Also, the club restaurants would require you to swipe your room key before you entered. But mostly anyone can go anywhere they want. It’s just the one beach area and the couple restaurants.

Hi! Great video, thank you for your detailed review! I've been watching videos of the Excellence Club Punta Cana and haven't seen a review of this room either. I'm staying soon and I am curious,if you don't mind sharing, if you booked direct? I didn't, and I'm worried accommodations won't be as good (like how they tried to put you in a different section). Hi. Ya, we did book directly through the resort’s website. We made sure to book with guaranteed cancellation (extra cost) just incase. Also, by booking direct and staying 3 days or more you get private transportation included to and from the airport. After the covid bs, we are probably no longer going to book through a 3rd party because Travelocity left us hanging after the first round of forced covid refunds. As far as getting the good side of the resort, when you book there should be a little section in the form with “additional requests or information”, something like that. Just note you want buildings 1-5 the Excellence side of the resort (we assumed we would have been on the good side until we got there). We had to change our room on site after we saw it and we definitely didn’t pay all that extra to not be on the Excellence side. Side note: when we stayed at the Excellence in Riviera Maya, we did not book direct. Everything was fine on that trip, we just had to pay extra for transportation. And we were on the good side of the resort, but for that trip we had a roof top pool suite as those were only in one area. Hope this helps. Thanks for the first comment!

Hi there! We are booked for EPC in the spring and really enjoyed your video. Was wondering if you could shed some light on the beach and the bug situation🐜🪰 as we have been reading some reviews stating the beach was often Red Flagged due to rough seas and that the bugs were out in full force. As for bugs: they were nonexistent when we went. The beach was super clean. We got there at a time when there was no seaweed piled up. But the next day it started to roll in and then the day after it was full blown mountains of weeds. But the staff was out cleaning it all day everyday. Then it cleared up again only to repeat. But nothing anyone can do. The beach was red flagged everyday. The waves were huge and knocked me around a lot! It was fun though as long as you don’t go out too far. We loved it. That ocean breeze made the weather just perfect. But this was all from the week we went. Hope your time is just as nice.

We were here for a week in early December. We had zero issues with bugs/mosquitoes. We had a mix of yellow and red flags on the beach that week, and we went into the ocean everyday. The beach had very little seaweed, what was there, the staff were out at daylight cleaning up. You can't beat this resort for the price, it truly is Excellent.

I would sign the agreement and take the freebie. I would not be too worried about them coming after me in Canada. How much would that cost?
