I have a Pit Bull named Charlie. He takes care of my chickens. I love my Charlie so much. My Lab Border Collie mix, Buck, trained him to care for the chickens. Buck has since passed at nearly 18 years old. Charlie is a love and so sweet. I think you will have a lot of fun watching Herc teach your new family member how to work with him as his partner.

I'm so happy to read this story. I'm sorry for your loss of Buck. It sounds like he was a wonderful pup for an exceptionally long life, which is fantastic and says a lot about the attention, care and love that he received from his human family and his buddy Charlie. Pits are one of the most misunderstood and mistreated breeds of dogs out there. They are sweet, loyal, smart as heck and resilient. If I were to pick any breed for my next dog it would be a Pit for sure. However, my next dog will need to be a service dog and unfortunately nobody around here trains Pits for service work (and I'd need a taller dog to help with mobility). Having said this, if one just happened to land on my doorstep and needed a home.... well, it'd be cruel for me to not take him or her in, right!? Haha. Again, love hearing about Charlie the Chicken Sitter and how wonderful he is and how much he's adored. Take care and thanks for sharing!

I love you guys! We have XL American Bullies. They are the most loving, gentle dogs! People are afraid of the word "pit bull" . Any dog you own can be aggressive, it's up to the owners to show love, kindness and compassion to any fur animal they have. You guy's are amazing fur owners! It's all about love and compassion.
