Welcome to our latest vlog! In this video, we're exploring Baguio City, known for its tropical pine forests and stunning views. In case you missed our last vlog, we drove from BGC to Pampanga, where we stayed at the Clark Marriot Hotel. We got to explore the New Clark City and visit Nelvine's family.
Our scenic drive from Clark Marriot to the Manor at Camp John Hay in Baguio will take approximately three hours. So sit back and join us on this adventure as we discover what else Baguio City has to offer beyond its breathtaking scenery.

12:25 correction, It was never been 'colonized', in fact Cordillera region is the only part of the Philippines that was never been colonized by any foreign invaders in the past. There is actually a monument in a park(Igorot park) just near Burnham park that tells a bit of history of the place because It was only through friendly means that the Americans were able to establish & have a base in Baguio.

Oh this is so interesting. Thanks for correcting us. We thought it was the Americans and Igorot tribes that inhabited the area. I just looked up Cordillera region and it’s a HUGE locality. Larger than I imagined anyway.

I love Baguio. You can drive to Banawe Rice Terraces and Sagada but its 7 hrs winding long drive.

We stayed at Camp John Hay before when it was still under the US Military. I love Baguio. My in laws lives very closed to Baguio. Good choice of place to stay. Baguio is very safe. Enjoy your vacation.

@@MomDuty that was on the 70's my husband was active in the Military service. As I see it to your videos, quite different back then. Back then, Camp John Hay was reserved for all US military service men, dependents, and those in the US Govt like Embassy personnel.

Awesome vlog of Baguio on first day. There’s a good amount of snow in Big Bear right now. As you know, Big Bear is a small village with good ski resorts while Baguio is a real big mountain city. I do think the zig zag and pine trees on the road does remind you of Big Bear in some ways. That said, enjoy your time in Baguio and excited to watch your next vlogs. 👍🏼❤️

husband here again - mom ( wife ) and I went to Bguio on my first trip to the PH, in 1979. Riding an old bus, not sure all the roads were paved then but we made it because I'm writing you now. Peso exchange was 7 to $1. We hired a cab to drive us around for 50 Pesos all day.. ( you nee a whole box of calling cards to hand out for new subscribers - don't miss that chance.

John Hay was more natured during the american occupation, currently it's a bit deforested but thank God it's still beautiful, hopefully we can make it more naturistic, more trees, less buildings/infrastructures😊...there's a nice trail inside CJH called Forest Bathing Trail, more trees and less people.
