Filming in public is usually not appropriate in Japan, and could even also end up in civil court cases if bad. But that aside, from the 90s there have been many African immigrants like that guy who sell hiphop clothes to appeal to the Japanese people who are interested in black culture. or night clubs. Their business apparently have been somewhat successful as there have been these guys all over for a while now, but some times they like to put their hands on people and kind of drag them into their shop. I've seen one of those guys kick a japanese kid for not wanting to go. They are shady which is why they really don't want to be filmed and they've been here for so long that they believe they could confront tourists like this. Don't be threatened by them cause these guys are on the brink of being deported and that's the last thing they want.

@@mbnb007 4 years? He's lived there his whole life. And as someone who has also lived here in Japan for 25+ years. I can also confirm that you both are right and wrong. It's true that filming in public like such is looked down upon here, and there are civil laws that could get you in trouble. But these Africans run shady hip-hop clothing shops in which they aggressively like to pull customers in to buy their products; which they obviously rather would not want to be filmed doing. Most of today's yakuzas are of Korean origin. There were yakuza in the Edo period, too, but they were known as people who had mastered the way of chivalry, and they are different from today's yakuzas. In the Edo period, there was a famous man of great integrity called Jirocho of Shimizu in current Shimizu City, Shizuoka Prefecture. There are many yakuzas in Kabuki-cho in Shinjuku.
@Official-OpenAIАй бұрын
Absolutely incorrect about "most" of them being of Korean origin. There are obviously Zainichi Yakuza as Korea and Japan neighbor each other, but that just means they have Korean blood, and they definitely do not make most of the Yakuza today.

Golden Gai, Omoide yokocho, Ameyoko, and pachinko parlors in front of train stations only in Tokyo are remnants of Korean towns where Koreans occupied land and settled without permission after the US military made Japan ungovernable after the war (World War II). Of course, the same decline occurred across the country. It is similar to the gypsy problem in Europe. They don't pay taxes. They don't fulfill their social obligations. However, they cannot be expelled and have become a problem in the Japanese underworld. Old towns from the Edo period in Japan are scattered all over the local country, such as in Takayama, Kanazawa, Hagino, Onomichi, and Kawagoe, and so on, but there are no towns as disorderly as Golden Gai. At that time, the bushi class, known as samurai, controlled the towns and the laws, and they could not develop the towns as they pleased, and the towns were beautifully landscaped with a rational sewer system. The sewage was used as fertilizer for the surrounding rice fields. Most of the water supply was well water, but Edo had a water supply line from Kanda to Edo Castle, and a water moat over 30 km long was built from the outskirts of Tokyo to supply the city of Edo. Be advised from Japanese history.
