I could see my house in your St Kilda video! :) The beaches you feature here are practically inner city bay spots. The further you go down towards the coastline, you will see some breathtaking beaches. The real stuff! :) Only about an hour drive from St Kilda. There is a walkway to your left when you were at Red Bluff which takes you down Half Moon Bay. Amazing spot for some fish and chips! Enjoying seeing my home Melbourne through your eyes. Gonna give you a subscribe to see more of your adventures. Welcome to Melbourne! Australia’s best city by far!

Nice video! I grew up in St. Kilda during the late-70s and early-80s and it was a totally different place back then, notorious for its drugs and prostitution and a cheap, rundown area to live, which is why it attracted so many musicians and writers, artists etc. back then. But by the early-90s the redevelopment began in earnest and, as you pointed out, it's mostly a home for wealthy people now (though I still live in St. Kilda but further in). The cake shops down Acland St. have long been famous for their sweets and pastries! Before COVID, St. Kilda was a big destination for English and Irish backpackers and working travellers, which no doubt helps partly account for the proliferation of Irish pubs in the area.

May I suggest... travel down the Mornington Peninsula, get the car ferry to Queenscliff on Bellarine Peninsula. Explore north then south side of Bellarine, head to Barwon Heads, through to Torquay, then do the Great Ocean Road, all the way through to Warrnambool. Hit Koroit (where I was born :) ) on the north slopes of Tower Hill. This area, through to Port Fairy (where I lived as a kid) was settled by the Irish. Koroit has an annual Irish Festival. Port Fairy is a surfbeach and fishing village. It was originally a whaling town named Belfast. The trip along the southern coastline is gorgeous.

Guys, I keep seeing your radio showing SEC, this is doing my head in, the code to unlock the radio is the last three number of the car's VIN number, this is on the sticker on the driver door pillar, or on the Rego papers. Steps below to fix this. 1. Turn the ignition on to the accessories position. 2. Hold the TUNE ^ button and the 1 button at the same time until three lines appear. 3. Using the 1 button, press until the first digit of the code appears, using the 2 button press until the second digit of the code appears, using the 3 button press until the third digit of the code appears. 4. Hold the SCAN button until SEC appears on the display and disappears. The audio system is now enabled.
@biggles72728 күн бұрын
Hi Glen and Mado. I’ve noticed your radio is offline (SEC). Try entering the PIN ‘320 SCAN’ to get it back online. … If that doesn’t work, the PIN should be in the manual, or you can call Toyota with your VIN.

Whilst Melbourne isn't known as a classic beach city and you wouldn't travel from the other side of the world just for Melbourne beaches there are some great suburban beaches in the metro area. Red Bluff beach just to the right of where you were (straddles Black Rock North and Sandringham) is one of the best beaches in Melbourne for me. You can park for free in the side streets near the beaches. But if your smart, you take a no trespassing sign and put on the dashboard with terms and conditions that if they touch the car in any way, they agree to pay the amount you stipulate... maybe $10,000. Then see if the Parking inspectors will leave a ticket or not. Knowing they will be liable as they agreed to your conditions. Most of the beaches are pretty good along Port Phillip Bay all the way down on the Mornington Pensinsula.

There's dozens of awesome beaches only an hour south of the city, ie Sorrento, Rosebud, Rye, Gunnamatta, Point Leo, Mount Martha, Mother's Beach, Safety Beach, Shelley Beach, Bushrangers Bay, Cairns Bay, Balnarring, Royal Beach, Number 16 Beach, Capel Sound, Flinders, Blairgowrie, Somers, Dromana, Merricks, Flinders, Portsea... The ones on the southern tip of the Peninsula (ie Gunnamatta) are all surf beaches. Then further East along the coast there's more surf beaches like Woolamai, Kilcunda and Inverloch.

St Kilda was a bit of a sleazy area at one time, it had a bad reputation for drugs and prostitution, lots of kerb crawling, the local council and residents decided to clean the place up hence the amount of one way streets and dead ends along with legalising prostitution. Mornington Peninsula is a great place to visit, Arthur’s seat has great views of the bay and once down to Sorrento you get the option of the bay beach on the North side and the surf beach on the south, Bass Straight. Victoria has lots of great places to visit, from coastline to mountains, it is worth doing a road trip heading East, head south to Phillip Island then follow the coast towards Sale, then onto Bairnsdale and start heading north to Omeo on the Omeo highway, once in Omeo head towards Mt Hotham and into Bright. From Bright you head towards Wangaratta, then you have the option of heading directly back to Melbourne on the Hume Highway or head down towards lake Eildon and head to Melbourne Via either the Melba hwy to Lilydale, Alexandra and the Black spur to Healesville and the Healesville animal sanctuary, or if you are feeling adventurous head to Mansfield and down through Jameson to woods point and then to either Noojee or head back west towards Warburton, it is adventurous because it is all dirt roads, the roads are good but the travel is slow and the scenery is great with lots of good free camping along the way. Enjoy your time in Victoria, it has a lot to offer. 👍👍👍👍

Melbourne beaches are bay beaches. Best beaches are past Geelong. Especially Torquay, Bells, Jan Juc etc.

St kilda is a hole lol and a tourist trap. If you want crystal clear water and clean sand with FREE parking, you go down the Bellarine peninsula around indented heads, Queenscliff and point Lonsdale. Much slower, chill and laid back.

Im still not used to you calling a 'pool' a 'baths'. Dont think i've ever heard them called swimming baths before. PS love the adventure though!

They are called the St Kilda Sea Baths, that is their proper name. It's a name left over from the late 19th century or early 20th century. You can check them out on the map.

Most sea pools in Sydney were known as Baths and some still are.. I learnt to swim at Bondi Baths (now Icebergs) and Bronte Baths. 😊

God I hope you go down the coast further. Melbourne is my city, but it just simply does not have the best beaches, or anywhere near it compared to other parts of this great land. However, down the South coast the coastline is unbelievably beautiful. Please, I hope you check it out.

Good grief. Did the tourist St Kilda thing and missed the Luna Park Giant Face photo op! BTW, you went to the bay. The coast is 100km away.

There are actually a lot better Melbourne beaches down the Mornington Peninsula and surf beaches if you go down the other side out west (past Geelong). St Kilda and Brighton are basically city beaches, so they naturally be a lot less clean. I live in Melbourne :D.

I hope you do Melbourne some justice eventually. You are suddenly stuck in a Tourism nightmare. Go for a day trip down the Great Ocean Road /The Shipwreck Coast. Go to Fitzroy or Brunswick. Catch Trams! See a Show, or a Band. This Victorian is disappointed 😥 As a

Sorry, but let's not judge someone else's choices... If you're "disappointed", get out there and film your own melb adventure. They told us they're housesitting a dog in the burbs, so catching a TRAM doesn't suit everyone if they're not living, inner city. Let's just be nice to people, letting us into their world.

@LisaS23N A recommendation from a local is not a judgement. My disappointment revolves around the fact that I am following their journey, and I see them miss out on the best of Melbourne. Also, I do "it" every day. I am "out there." Have been "out there" all my life. 😏 🫶
