What about the idea of fibrotic adhesions that limit the "slide and glide"? Isn't that technically scar tissue? If that's the case, it would help to know the difference between that kind of scar tissue and a healed wound type of scar tissue, and what specifically is limiting the tissue articulation, if it's not scar tissue or as simple as hydration.

Update: After knee manipulation, which had to be done because of scar tissue being a problem, I am able to bend now 115 degrees. The goal is 120. Don't know if I can do that. Its hard enough to do 115. My doctor has me taking an Oxycodin (5 mgs I think) before therapy, win order to ease pain. I can't wait until all of this is over.

Try incorporating "backwards" walking into a walking program...work up to at least 10 minutes. It strengthens ligaments and tendon areas that normally do not get a good blood flow. I tore ligaments in my right foot when I had a clean ankle break. It took a long time to heal. The numbness is from nerves being cut... Whatever you can do to move your foot will help but the "backwards walking" really helped me the most and is easy to do. I go to a local middle school track and alternate regular walking with backwards walking. After just three days I was able to lay down without pain and get some good sleep again.
