I love how your kids at this young age have already developed a great sense of who they are and aren't concerned about what others think! If only the rest of the world took this concept to heart as well.

These children are in the unique situation that they do not need to care that much. They have their sibling, they are homeschooled, they have parents at home full time, they arent exposed to a jugdy peergroup or afraid to be bullied all the time. Its so nice to see how children actually can develope
@nancyfarkas3592

Kids don’t normally care what others think until they get around other kids who have an influence on them along with social media. That is why it’s important to watch who they hang out with and watch in tv and such.
@nancyfarkas3592
@nancyfarkas3592 Жыл бұрын
@@samu6874they will still have kids they play with and so on but it’s up to mom and dad to be sure the people they do hang out with are good and have similar values. Not all parents can be home all the time or homeschool so it’s important to know who your kids friends are and to teach your kids good self esteem so they are not so influenced by other kids
@samu6874

@@nancyfarkas3592 of course! You can do a lot as parents. Still its easier for children with siblings to look up to who were raised along with them. I am compairing it to my kids. They have to go to school. And not just any school. They must attend the elementary school closest to their home. That put a lot of pressure on us to move to a special place to meet their needs (my son is gifted, there are no programs at schools). Of course its expensive as hell to live here. So we both need to work, drive the younger one across town to (the only available) daycare. And still... yes they have a good education but values and behaviour is so bad with Kids here. Rich Kids, rich parents, throwing money on everything. A nightmare. My son would be very lonely and therefore would try to get along with others by copying behaviour if he hadnt siblings to play with. and a teacher as parent that is home for holidays so theres no need for care.

Well I think I would be afraid that when they have to work they won’t have their sibblings and or parents to care or look out for them it may be difficult for some of them to cope with others not so well brought up !

I love how you speak to the young ones especially. Even though some parents might have pulled coco away from the ropes to say he's too young or it's not safe you encouraged him to try and used mature language to tell him to watch pearl and try to instruct him. ♡ gives him the option to try!

Be sure to log all that Outdoor Time on your mandala! You asked about ages of naps... We have seven kids (mostly grown now) and they stopped napping at all different ages. Usually by their third birthday for most, for sleeping... but until they were five or six and in school, we would always have Rest Time for about half an hour, where they'd take a sippy-cup or bottle of water to bed with a book and just lie and read for a while. With the younger ones that would often turn into a nap for an hour or more! But the trick was to call it Rest Time rather than Nap Time, and no one protested. I made each kid a soft flannel "Reading Blanket" that they would wrap up in! (Some even took these off to university!). 3 of our 7 came to us by birth, and 4 by adoption...at different ages... and having a special blanket and a set Rest Time seemed to be welcomed by everyone. But not if you call it Nap Time! (Kids think they're missing out on something if they're sleeping!). We also found that bedtime went easily when there was a routine in place: dinner, dog walk (with kids on scooters or bikes) around the neighborhood, rain or shine, then baths, songs, and a story or chapter. Then into bed with a book--read for a half hour if you want--and then lights out.

In my country (the Netherlands) people used to walk on wooden clogs (mostly farmers). I've had them too as a child. People thought that was strange ór special (tradition). Crocs are much better than clogs, nice and soft. You have to wear what you like and feel comfortable in. A lot of hospital workers like crocs too here. They fit well and you can wash them.

In Italy usually kids stop napping at 5 years old, right before starting school. The last year of preschool the big kids do quiet activities while the little ones are napping. That's because school starts at 8 am and finishes at 4.30 pm, and with after school activities and homework they couldn't nap even if they wanted too.

Our children are grown, but we have six. They all napped until at least three. After they stopped they had quiet time after lunch. This gave them an opportunity to fall asleep if they were actually sleepy. When I was a child I was required to take a nap after I got home from Kindergarten. Kindergarten was half day at that time. I didn't like the idea, but I always fell asleep. As anyone who has more than one child knows, all kids are different. You two are doing a great job with yours. Sending my best and blessings to you and your lovely family. Debbie

My kids always had a lay down after lunch right up until they started school. They didn’t didn’t have to sleep but were expected to lay on their beds and could play quietly or read/draw etc for an hour. It was really good for them to learn it’s ok to occupy yourself and enjoy your own company and really good for me to have an hour to sit quietly or run around and get those extra jobs done.

Aww, Meg and Mog! My boys had those 40+ years ago. We loved them and I’m glad to see they’ve endured. Younger Son napped until he was two and that was it. Elder Son, by two years, was mellow enough to “rest” on his bed as long as his brother napped, and then they were finished. It worked out well.

We took naps until we went to 1st grade. There was no kindergarten then. My mother would take a nap too because that was time that she needed to regenerate her energy as she was an older mother. She always told us that we didn't have to go to sleep but we did have to be quiet and rest and it nearly always ended up that we all went to sleep. Mother only needed about 15 or 20 minutes of quiet and then she was ready to go again. She was fine with us getting up then if we wanted to.

Heck no! My kiddos napped until 5. Then on Sunday afternoons they laid down pretty much in the afternoon till they left home. I still nap!!

I never thought of hunting pinecones. Fun. It reminds me that Easter is coming up. Always liked hunting eggs.

I don’t like when crocs fill with sand or wood chips and kids crocs in my experience start to smell. Maybe you can wash them to avoid that problem. I also didn’t feel like they were a sturdy enough shoe for preschoolers who are learning to walk and climb.

They’ve been in then out theb back in. My adult children have them now. They had them as kids , the younger ones, and they are back wearing them again. It’s so funny. But I’ve always liked them.
