You gotta use mold resistant board in that shower area and if bathroom isn’t ventilated correctly the entire bathroom or you are going to have a serious mold issue. You can use Green Board or DuraRock Board with a RedGard Paint covering at least 2-3 coats. If you use RedGard wear a chem mask because the fumes are very strong. Your videos and content are awesome. Thank God Spring is right around the corner.

When I lived in the Florida keys back in the 60's we would mark the turtle nesting spots and come back and gather the eggs with my diving buddies grandfather. He worked with the Florida wildlife department and incubated the eggs and placed the hatchlings in large holding tanks, about 10 meters square or 33 ft . He had several of these for the various sizes. We would release them when there shells were about 20cm or 7 to 9 inches long if my memory is correct. Dang I'm getting old. Crap! Y'all are gittin er done. Even got a shower now.

It's best to use mold resistant Sheetrock in a bathroom. You should put a water proof membrane in the shower before you tile. I used Kerdi membrane which is approved to go over regular sheet rock.

I was told when I was remodelling my house to use blue-backer board for the walls of the shower. Any leak in the tile grout will cause the drywall to soak up the water leading to more leaks. I was told this after I had the water come up from the floor out side the stall. I had to rip out the shower walls and start again with Blue-backer board.

Although many years ago, I traveled from alaska to washington state. I got home and it was the first time I had ever been away from my two loyal friends Lady and Tramp. For the first few minutes they were so happy to see me and then the just would not have anything to do with me... they were angry that I had left them! It took a solid week before they forgave me which by this time, I was so grateful for. I never ever left them again for any reason. I have what I call a love and hate affair with snow. Glad you made a vacation, a great one it was, but happy to know your home as well.

As someone who did linework and power plant work in operations for 30+ years, as well as, a motorcyclist, I can assure you of one thing for sure: having the right gear makes all the difference in the world! I was surprised to see Katie trying to scale that slide zone in footwear without good ankle support... As far as the thumbnail for this video: hang in there! You are almost there....and then you'll have the rest of your lives to enjoy that awesome place under the sun! I know I've enjoyed the journey, but I haven't had to do the work, though I know the work. Best wishes on a speedy finish date, (even though, I know, too: the work is never done when you own property, as it is always there, with more to do!). Thanks for sharing!

It is common that upon arrival in Mexico, the stomach has a certain sensitivity to products such as water or food; This is known as "Moctezuma's revenge", referring to the reaction to the intake of local products, but the discomfort passes quickly, they only recommend not to exceed consumption while the body assimilates and stops having a reaction. Hoping you had a happy stay in the city and a great shot when you start recording from the room and show that first image the viewpoint of Puerto Vallarta and immediately the boardwalk and the commercial area of crafts and restaurants-bar

I like watching your steady progress and will point out that I am a master carpenter , electrical worker and Plummer , so just a thought and please dont be offended , but replace thr 45 on the inlet and the tub with 90 s to shorten the lines and run them downhill as far as you can as it will create close to 10 psi more and the rule , just like a garden hose is larger inlet usually 2 inch reducwd to half gives you more pressure and the response of your instant heater will work much better also , but if not possible a higher flow pump will help greatly . Please ask if you have any questions as I have encountered many , many situations , Thanks and best of luck .

I love the electric powered generators with the solar panels. I love them for around the house to lower my electric bill and keep things on. I happen to live in an area that has had frequent outages, so I am putting more of these for fridge security system internet modems and anything else critical. I am seeing my electric bill dropping as I add more things. I do not want to put solar panels on the roof because if there is a fire the fire dept will not use water near solar panels due to risk of shock.

I love how frugal you are with your money. You mentioned a while back you paid of the mortgage. Didn't you say that you bought some additional land? Anyhow, living a minimalist life style like you do, hopefully you were able to pay cash for your vacation and avoid using credit cards. To me there is nothing like going to the Caribbean when there are cold temps/snow on the ground at home. My wife and I truly enjoy the flexibility of cruising. Hope you had a great time. Question, was it the off season there for tourists? Very sorry to hear you had the bug while down there.

I would look for some magnifying glass to melt Ice off your solar pannels actually I head it works better with tube type cylinder type pannels for heating liquid like antifreeze but they might also work with solar pannels in winter and snow conditions, You are pretty adapt in your abilities just look around for the infor mation. And also there are water heaters rhat are liked a large thermous bottle they are not heated all the time just very well insulated and hold the hot water for a very very long time. I believe they have a large stainless steel coiled tube on the inside and they are very large perhaps a 100 gallons or more. I think they are called indirect water heaters.
