These look great, and kudos for sticking to your rule of only using parts from the sets. But I would enjoy another follow up video where you remove the restrictions and build with parts from your collection as well!

I came here to say this as well! Wonderful video and really nice designs, would definitely enjoy a part 2 with your parts included. 🙌🏽

Now all you need to do is double the Lion Knights Castle with a second set to bring it into scale with the town!
@nathangerber15476 ай бұрын
For me, this is the only way to do it. The combination buildings were super weird, so doubling it and matching the halves together makes it so much better. I would mod them to not have multiple chimneys and towers though.
@jacobe19426 ай бұрын
This is a great set to expand upon, really excited to see these doubled creations. This is a great town builder set with unlimited potential! What the 3n1 set was able to do this could do better.

Great job with this. It really look awesome! It is amazing how much medieval stuff there is with just two town squares.

It's cool seeing everyone customizing the village. I swapped the white and the olive green, it didn't take much out of my collection, most notably being the 1x1x1 2/3 snot brick in white

I like what you did. However I don't think it's a good choice for the carpenter's building. You should have left it fully open on one side or try to add in a hinged wall using the hinges that links it to the other 2 small buildings. I find it is way too thin to be accessible just from above. Also you can't see the things she is working on. Or you could have made it an open space furniture depo / workshop - can't say more as I didn't get to this myself - might be harder to do than I expect with just the parts in here. The rest are really GREAT. regarding the size of the lion Knights Castle - I see many people have this issue. My solution for that is putting the lion knights castle on a raised mount / hill or even a box behind the other buildings. It will look a lot more imposing that way.

I like how it looks, and it's definitely an improvement, but I don't think it's worth the 450 dollar price tag. I think a better option would be to customize the original and forgo the hinges, use pin connectors instead. That way you can extend the buildings a bit and not have to worry about the rotational angles, as well as access each building separately when detached.

I understand the set up of your ground rules. But I still wonder what you could have done if you hadn't been as strict. I guess, the result would have been absolutely amazing. But still: great challenge and great result!
@andreabicego69236 ай бұрын
Great improvement! There is still the issue of lack if stairs to the upper floors though. I think the problem could be solved by using extra pieces to build stone/wood stairs on the outside and putting a door on a wall section.

What about combining the red tutor-style building, with the tower, with the inn and make an updated version of the Guarded Inn ? 🤔😊

Sounds like a fun idea! You know we love the Guarded Inn! Did you see our remake? We have a few videos on it actually.

@@buildingtogether4171 I did 😊 I would like to see a updated modernized version of the Guarded Inn. With more room, similar to the new Tudor-inn, but as a whole building 😊 With the Tower or Crows Nest and the wall and the small stable-like feature

I honestly don’t think the scale with the castle is that out of proportion, historically castles weren’t that much bigger than an entire town square in terms of footprint, and the imposing height often came from the terrain more than anything. So, I think putting the castle on some sort of riser or box would help the scaling a lot

Im not a fan of the hinges... I used a second set to build the houses as a modular set... Also they didnt grow in size times two... My carpenter shop became 1,5 bigger... Making it a fishershop. The cheese house is the same... I noticed that the scale works perfect with the castle size. With two sets you can have five houses and a tower.

i don't know if this is a dumb thoughts but the two main door home could have been a multi family home - which i feel had to have been common in these times. i think i am going to give that a try as i plan on taking our fantastic idea of doubling up on this set and trying it myself!!!!

Ok looks pretty good and easy enough for anyone to try on their own... I would like to see your remake with pieces that would more dramatically transform them, a reedit. THis could be a really fun set to remake... What if in other versions people combined the white and tan lattise to make its own double decker, or make the shop into another castle keep with the white lattice. Great tree design too! The extra shrubbery foillage piece also looks great to make it seem more rustic town like. Peace.

I find your initiative inspiring but I am not convinced by the relevance of systematically mirroring buildings. I plan to acquire two copies of the set in order to use more pieces to further reimagine the village in mire depth while keepibg the essentials. I find the buildings of the tavern and the paint shop too high compared to the castle (10305) and the green / light brown colors do not go together in my opinion, LEGO should have introduced a darker brown for a more visually attractive contrast.
@Nphen5 ай бұрын
That's what's so great about Lego - you can rebuild it. He said he wanted a simple doubling because he was sticking to only the pieces in the set. I'm modifying the buildings with my own parts. I changed the floor color for the loom shop to match the brown of the jumpers, but I'm also doubling that building so it sits standalone. I want to build & mod these official Lego sets, in a simple & efficient way, because I have a lot of other things to build, like MILS landscapes, and lighting kits. Then I can build my own cottages later.

$460 for an expanded villiage is... steep. Nice build though, especially considering your self-imposed limitations.
