Ive been in his position with a 4x4 for a big trip with friends (Aus). NOTHING went our way with that car, people supplying us wrong parts, sized/breaking studs, all sorts of mess and just couldnt put it on the road for a 3000km 4x4 trip. We have a good laugh about it now, chin up fella .... it. makes the next trip THAT much sweeter!

The BMW museum is a fascinating place to visit, and I’m not a BMW fan. I took part in The Italian Job Run back in 1997 and we stopped as guests of BMW in Munich. Still have a photo somewhere of 120+ Minis parked outside. Managed to get a tour of their Research and Development department too. This would be when they took over Rover/Land Rover and were developing their own 4x4 systems.

We often underestimate older vehicles, but they tend to die slowly, gradually getting weaker and slower rather than their modern day counterparts, which will refuse to turn over even if the plug for a sensor if slightly knocked in it‘s socket…

Kudos to Lisa at the BMW museum & Tom with his beautiful Jag. I'm not a BMW fan as in Australia they are stupidly expensive, even 2nd hand. Parts, well yeah, expensive. The BMW museum I would be spending a week in it. The lads just proved to me that BMW's are worse to maintain than the Chinese vehicles that people are buying here. Poor Taylor though, a ton of bad luck that he didn't deserve. Hopefully we'll get other marques on the channel other than BMW.

@@PandaDiesel11 Never buy a 2nd hand BMW in Australia. You pay through the nose for them for starters. Parts/trim prices are disgustingly high. I've had mates who have owned various Beamers over the years & every single one of them has had 2nd or 3rd mortgages on them. Plus I'd get phone calls to pick them up cos they've broken down somewhere. I'll stick to my Holden utes.

Thank you for this cross Europe drive! I can really get into it as someone in the USA who really doesn't get to see much of this. Please do more of them!! Funny enough I was driving home in Orlando tonight and saw a minivan with a custom plate saying tavrs or something. I thought hmm is it his van? This was so damn good lads ! I thoroughly enjoy the long form videos as they're not only so well done, but you love every second of it. I feel so incredibly bad for Taylor. He wanted to go so damn much but all the roadblocks along the way were absolutely gutting. Seeing his pride and joy make it to the show would've been absolutely beautiful. Perhaps a drive through Spain, a ferry to Marrakech, and around the Atlas Mountains. Maybe in Mercs as a nod to the 116s that're known for being nigh bulletproof in the centre of the continent.
