Pretty risky, though. You might want to make a 30 min charge somewhere along the way (with 50kW DC fast charge option 30min gives you an extra 100 miles, or 48 miles with standard 22kW)
@AsekiBekovy2 жыл бұрын
@@corentinoger Not true. When unsure if you make it, you will be better off just going 5 mph slower. The Zoe does not achieve the advertised 50kW DC charging speed. It will do an average of about 35 kW between 10 and 90%. So a lot quicker than AC22, but not twice as fast.
@starkead5 ай бұрын
@@AsekiBekovyI have a zoe 110 52kwh with only AC charge, no DC at all, and it took 2h to charge from 30% to 100% on 22kwh station, but, the range showed is just false, it's based on the kwh/mil ~ kwh/100km. In reality, it's how you drive who defined how much is the range. For example, in high way it would be like 200/250km, depending of your speed like 100 or 110km/h, for instance, it's 20kwh~22kwh/100km Others while, in city it's 8kwh/100km, almost 500km Out of city, in country side, if you have a calm driving at 80/90kmh, it's 15kwh/100km, 380km
@AsekiBekovy5 ай бұрын
@@starkead well the range is not really false, it's just a guess. Why do you charge to 100% though? You'd probably be able to charge from 30 to 90 in 1:40.

@Jo Bell - "AAA" recently conducted a test and found, when an EV's heater system is in use, average EV range drops by 41% under combined mixed city/highway driving conditions. So (ie/eg) an EV that's rated to run 100 miles between charges, will now only run 59 miles between charges. Seeing how EV manufacturers/EV dealerships aren't likely going to discuss cold-weather range performance with those that purchase EVs, I can see a lot of unsuspecting EV owners becoming extremely upset if they happen to live in an area (or need to drive to an area) that experiences cold temperatures 1-6+ months out of the year.
@Mr.M1STER3 жыл бұрын
Good point, well made. Another point I have heard someone make is what if you are on a journey in cold weather and you get stranded somewhere with a flat battery. You will not be able to "run the engine" to keep the heat going. I get that typically someone with an electric vehicle should be planning their journeys so well that that should never happen but you know what people are like. Many folk have gotten lost in snow storms before.

Interesting question, but also tell me what temperature. (Or go to the video's of Tesla Bjorn ...he's done a lot of tests in different wether, speed and so on). I can only give an estimate on a Hyunda KonaE 64....At zero to three degrees celsius I'll reach 390-400km range. At 20-22 degrees celsius I'll reach 450-460 km range (which is more than the 449 km wltp claimed range). This numbers are measurde with mostly motorway at a speed of 100km/h (which is the speed limit in the Netherlands at the moment) and a little in town. Maximum range , when you're really trying to get as far as possible, 85km/h is more than 500km in conditions when you do not need heater or airco. I'm driving at least every week a roundtrip of about 360 km. Never needed to go to a (fast)charger on this distance. Starting this after buying this car nearly 2 years ago.

Had a Honda since january 2022. In the colder months (Jan - Mar) range was easily sub-100 and nearer 80 but as a city car (and that's what it's marketed as) that's not an issue. With warmer weather and holidays, we've done several 100-110 trips on A-roads with some dual carriageway/motorway driving and hilly/scenic B-roads and got as low as 9% battery on those trips before hitting a charger - a bit nervy but more confident now we've done it a few times. We stopped in very rural Perthshire and had a chat with someone who worked for a Honda dealer and he was impressed how far we'd come. Planning is key - have a spread of charging points planned and avoid hills. Do we like it? Hell, yes.

For me, range anxiety is not an issue. What would be a concern would be turning up at a charging point & finding it not working. I stopped at a motorway service area in southern England recently & noticed that out of 12 charging points provided, five were not working & when I returned two days later the same five were still out of order. This is an issue that the industry is going to have to tackle if EVs are going to become mainstream.

I really like the design of the little Renault. It's got the cute and endearing face that you'd expect from a tiny little city car, but it wears it's little diamond badge so proudly. In all, though, if the range were better, I'd rather have the Honda for all the whiz-bang gadgetry and the more retro-modern styling of the interior. Only if I had a second car with more range and a bit more comforting road presence to take on long trips on the motorway. None of that particularly matters, though, since I'm in the US and essentially none of those vehicles are available here because we're backwards and nobody buys small cars.

@@keks-69 Real world randomness is a fair test. They all had the same end goal, even if eventually taking different routes. For the most part they were all on the M1 though. One of them had miles on the clock already, one of the vehicles did have a second person in it too (usually the vehicle the presenter was sat in) The only way to do this better really is to have one person perform the same test over multiple similarly weather affected days with each different car. Thats pretty much what it did when new! Im a vehicle detailer. I considered an EV van once... But...... Ive recently been to a company that ended its lease early and dumped its entire EV van fleet, because they are simply not fit for purpose. The vans allegedly have a 200 mile range, but one you load them for a days work. (In this case building and plumbing) that additional weight drops the range from an acceptable 200 miles to just 50 miles. They couldnt do a days work without a 3 hour midday recharge. I also drive to and from London, from the North in the same day on a semi regular basis.. I'd have no chance doing that in an EV.

@@juliengabriel9363 These are not cars that you'll do long trips in. These are cars that get you to work and around town. They charge over night. Any of them will perform absolutely fine for that. If you're doing several hundred mile trips on the regular you're not going to use either of these cars.
