I went to Lost and Buried @minediver and they say it's not their batteries as they only use recargables. I will say this as a Retired Lode Owner / Operator and Mine Safety Inspector that many Miners and even Survey Crews etc. use lights that take disposable batteries and in my time as a Mine Inspector I have seen everything for Modern Batteries to Antique ones discarded in old Mines but the Litter that really pisses me off is those damn Cigarette Butts, if you must toss your butts at least Field Strip them first.Unfortunately for some our National Forests are nothing but dumping grounds for them. My Motto is Pack Out more than I Pack In and I pray that you do the same.

Great explore and love that you took us in and you and Laura were the only ones that left footprints for all of us. Blessing to the both of you for your great values about keeping the mines as virgin to when the original miners left them.

I watch both of you guys channels, yours for years. But, assuming and accusing someone of everything you find in a mine is ridiculous. I read comments on their channel and they admitted that, years ago, they were leaving "graffiti". They also say, they do not use disposable batteries. Gly, i do love your channel, stay to facts and dont accuse someone without proof. The cancel culture is trash! Thank you, continue your good work!

Yeah, I stopped talking about my favorite places in anything but vague terms. Too much traffic, graffiti, trash and vandalism. Not enough respect. Mines ought to have a register, a certain distance from the portal, much like caves do. You sign in, maybe leave your card, and then, explore, and, take nothing but pictures, leave nothing but foot prints, and kill nothing but time. Too bad the 500 was flooded. Sure is a neat mine. Thanks for the tour, and the rant!

If it's really that aggravating to you the last thing you should do is draw attention to them. How many more people will physically explore the depths of the mine before its inaccessible anyway - maybe a dozen. Just ignore it and don't even bother to show it. You are going to give yourself a coronary over pretty much nothing.

When you showed the 90 degree angle of the last ladder to the 400 level, you say "you're pooped", I thought ahead of the climb back out for you two after filming this mine all in one day!! Boy! you two have stamina! At 26:15, those log pieces laying, to the sides of the adet, looked like they were newly sawed!! At 29:26, if your partner wouldn't have went on, now you wouldn't be crawling over "crumble". (poor, worn out Gly's body..ha,ha.). At 33:26, just after the "crumble crawl" of the ore chute failure, look! at the beams that had cracked; dangerous area. At 34:00, that just meant that some explorers (but with no camera), had got here before you.(ya, I can see where that diminishes the feeling of what you two have just accomplished). BUT, you two documented this mine, all in one day, just made 3 episodes of it. Thats a feat! and you haven't climbed back out yet! I'm pooped just thinking of the energies you've expended. Thank you for all your energies so that we could see this.

Gly, agree that leaving trash or writing things on the bell stall is s#*t but leaving a small calling card or similar might be something to consider 😉 I imagine that people in the 1950’s would have complained when someone contemporary left a marking in a mine from the 10’s or 20’s but now when we see it, it’s part of the mine’s history.. explorers in 2050 will find something from you and see it as a museum piece 😄
@L4M8585 ай бұрын

@CNFCrew5 ай бұрын
That’s exactly how I would put it. We often see markings from the 1950s and 1940s in mines that shut much earlier than that. I personally don’t mind seeing calling cards. Also they aren’t permanent they can be removed

People leaving their trash is the same below ground as above . I’ve hauled trash out of wilderness areas where people hiked in and just left what they didn’t want to carry back out ,even at the fraction of what it weighed carrying it in. I’m 72 and have been doing that for 60 some years and it still amazes me. I was surprised though in seeing it in caves when I started spelunking.

I know it is frustrating when other explorers do stupid stuff like that. However, although it isn't your job to do so, do you ever lug any of that trash out? I would think even a small amount would be better than nothing. You'd be leaving the place better than you found it and leading by example. It's one of those things that is like, you can't keep people from doing those things, but you can do something about the things themselves... again, even if it was just a little bit. Anyways, maybe not.. Idk, I'm not down there so maybe there's something I don't know of that prevents one from doing so.. That all said, thank you for exploring these mines because I'm sure I'll never be able to do it myself.

Hi Gly, I'm curious does the water table in the mines you explore remain stable or does it depend on the season's or perhaps drop during dry spells 🤔???
