Must state from personal experiences setting steel and timber for cribbing with the wooden wedges tapped in to 'tighten it all up is a art form even to today. However when n these miners worked with rough cut timbers and hacked wedges their artwork to keep themselves save with those stall placements and the cuts are just awesome ❤

Back in 2022 in the Thunder Ridge Mine series and the Silver Fortune Tunnel and Shaft you mentioned there was a section of the shaft from depths you reached to the Silver Fortune tunnel that had more adits. I'm sure you said you might try to rope that. Are you going to or was there something you found that prevented you. With the effort you made to bring us that explore it feels almost incomplete. Thanks 👍

You answered most of my question about blasting. What else I wanted to know was if they went completely out of the mine before the blast went off, or to some place away from the blast, inside the mine, that they deemed safe.

My fear exploring mines, if I did it, would be getting trapped inside from a cave in. You must just accept the risk!?

Hello Gly and Laura. I have been a big fan for quite a long time and I do have a question when it regards, dynamite, and the blowing up of the rock. How do the minors know what the good rock with ore content is and the scrap or the tailings. We always see the tailing pile as you come into a mine and the veins after they’ve been cleaned out, but after an explosion, it would appear to me that all of the ore and the waste rock would be mixed together and I’m wondering how the good rock is separated from the waist rock. Thank you so much.

Alluvial mines are iffy at best. This is one to be avoided, just waiting to spring a disaster on you.

How do you manage to avoid stepping on nails sticking up from boards lying around these places? I notice this hazard a lot in these videos.

Mining in alluvium is like digging in a sand pit. Two steps forward, one step back. I like it when the camera follows Laura. It gives dimension to everything in stead of just seeing an excavation.
