As a maker of doll clothes I can tell you that the first thing that deteriorates in old doll clothes is the elastic in underpants (and socks). Then the pants keep falling down. There is nothing creepy about that or weird. There is usually an explanation for many things that seem weird in old houses.

I find it very motivating and sad that the person who lived here is probably in a home just waiting to die, leaving behind an empty home full of someone’s life. You can imagine the once smell of cooking, the tv on, the garden mower buzzing in the summer, grand children visiting and a normal way of life home. We are all just here for life’s memories which as you age flash by all too quickly until we’re just memories too. Live, love and enjoy each day of your life, as time stops for nothing.

Shouldn't be demolished. Think of the stories it could tell if the walls could talk. This would make a great family home for someone. It's criminal to see old houses torn down. It's not just brick and mortar. It holds history. Memories. They tare it down then they should have their own house torn down.

It breaks my heart to see all the furniture, dishes, toys, artwork, toys, etc., left behind in the abandoned house. That was a great find an old Victorian style house it even had the servants bells still there, the button on the wall by the serving hatch was a servants bell and I noticed one next to the window in one of the rooms. The statues if the girl with a pet and the boy next to it are normal for households if that time, even my Gran had them also she had Pictures Queen Mary and Albert instead of Queen Victoria. There was a modern shower stool in the garden too plus judging by the walking sticks the owner was if a good age. Often if an elderly women gets Dementia or in years gone by had lost a child they have found that giving them a dolls or baby items such ad cots or pram's does quiet them down and stops them from wandering so much. Obviously someone with a sick sense of humour has set those dolls up for a laugh. Thank you so much.

Interesting. The old pram. dates from the 1920's. The pram. in the loft 1960's (Pedigree) Son was in the Military and they were a Catholic family-or a close relative that came to live with them was. The house decor is Mid 1970's and yes, we all carpeted our bathrooms then (but put mats round the loo!). I suspect the relatives did take everything valuable and left the memories. As someone pointed out in the comments - in the end that is all that is left.

Whenever you see a 'doorbell' on a living room wall, it's to summon the servant or hired help! I wasn't at all surprised when you found the control box, which is where the servant would turn the bell off before attending the relevant room. Lots of substantial properties had them. At some point I realised I'd seen this house before but your more thorough visit made the property much more interesting. Those dolls! Ugh! I think a previous visitor has been playing the goat!
