Ok, going to age myself here but I read The Secret History when it came out in 1992 when I myself was at university and loved it. Since college I’ve basically avoided campus novels like the plague, yet, I loved this discussion and now want Sierra to show plot structures with movement and humming for every book she reads! Also, I was with you on the ‘long and thick’ hilarity John 😉😂

Lol I'm so glad you got those hand movements bc it was EXACTLY how it was in my brain! -Sierra

I agree that I love it when writers use their area of expertise in a book. Babel was my favorite book last year!

I read the secret history about 10 years ago and from what I remember, I loved the writing but the characters could be frustrating. I'd like to re-read it though. I adored Babel, it was on my best books of the year in 2022. If we were villains sounds very intriguing. I loved the comparison style and the pacing 😂 It would be cool to see you do this with romance, graphic novels or prize winners.

The characters could definitely be frustrating in the secret history and the way Tartt makes you feel about them has stuck with me. I love those ideas! Thanks for the feedback! - Jon

I love this genre - I teach in higher ed, but nothing like what happens in these books happens where I teach-or does it? 😮
