The clothes may have been donated, that’s common for churches and religious families to do all over the world in general and especially when someone passes. Also I’m not certain but I think that gold bowl in the dining area is for incense, that’s what it looks like was burning inside. All in all very Catholic.

Those little bottles of liquor used to be from airports back in the 70s, 80s, 90s and before. Many people just brought them home because they were free.

I don't need to check Wiki, my Masters degree in Theology and my undergraduate degree in Theology made sure that I saw his face enough and I have a copy of St Pope John XXIII writing so I know how he presented himself in pictures and it was always caped. The thumbnail picture at the very beginning of the video is not caped.

Another one of your beautiful but sad finds. It's heartening to know that this home was once alive and full of happiness and laughters will soon be taken over by nature one day. Hopefully the daughter will come back and reclaim it again..everything is in mint condition, so beautiful. When my dad passed away we actually gave the home my dad bought in 1965 to our younger sister. My mom is 86 and both still lives in the house we grew up in, hopefully the same will happen to this one..Stay safe healthy and blessed always out there! From Southern California ☀️

This artefact is a brasero, used to warm up the space under the tables in winter with hot charcoal which was placed inside it, but this one looks like a decorative one.

I think they possibly used it as an incense burner. Catholics sometimes burn incense ( shaped like small round discs ) in censers and it would have left a small burnt spot like they filmed inside that one.

@jude jackson Tenéis unas ideas muy raras sobre los católicos. No quemamos incienso en nuestras casas. Solo en la iglesia, y solo en fiestas importantes. En incensarios, no en braseros. El artefacto es un brasero, como dice Leticia González. Mis abuelos y mi tía abuela tenían parecidos. No había calefacción en las casas entonces. También había braseros pequeños con mango muy largo para calentar las sábanas antes de acostarse.

En el minuto 13:42, hay un brasero. En este brasero se hacía fuego, sin llama, con carbón, para calentar las habitaciones. Estos braseros eran muy comunes en todas las casas, unos mas lujosos que otros, segun el poder adquisitivo de cada casa. Esta costumbre viene de los árabes que estuvieron en España durante siglos y dejaron muchas costumbres como herencia

Roman Catholic pastors/ priests are not allowed to marry, So this mansion belonged to a couple who were devout members of the Catholic Church. Protestant pastors can marry but not Catholic pastors, priests and nuns.

¡Hola! Me encanta lo que hacéis y el respeto que tenéis por los sitios y las personas que allí vivían. Me encanta cuando das las bendiciones o pides permiso a las personas que vivieron allí y de qué modo te conmueves pensando en ellos y que fue lo que pasó con ellos, es algo que yo también siento al ver estos sitios, eso te hace valorar y respetar lo que haces. Mi enhorabuena lo hace más emocionante si cabe. Como agradecimiento a tu labor te diré algunos detalles si te sirven de ayuda en tus urbex en Europa. El hecho de que no haya ropa en algunos de los sitios es porque mucha gente que procesa la fe cristiana y ya por costumbre suele donar ( entregar) la ropa a la iglesia para los mas necesitados. La ropa es algo muy personal que te recuerda a la persona fallecida por eso en cuanto fallece a veces los familiares o la propia iglesia lo suele recoger todo y lo entregan a los pobres. Por otro lado, tanto en España y por Europa es muy común tener el crucifijo encima de la cama o en la mesita de noche para rezarle por las noches, de ahí lo del agua bendita para santiguarse, también podía estar a la entrada de las casas o en el salón porque también se bendice la mesa antes de comer. Las imágenes de cristo o Santos Dan protección por eso pueden estar por toda la casa. También para que los demás vieran lo religioso que eras, en el caso de los muy creyentes. Incluso en mi casa había algún crucifijo a pesar de no procesar y\o practicar la fe pero si mi madre era creiente, hasta hoy en día muchas casas por si acaso como símbolo de protección tienen algún crucifijo o santo. Espero haberte dado algunos detalles de interés, estaría dispuesta a darte más, siempre lo hago cuando estoy mirando los vídeos y comentando lo que veo como si me escucharas ja ja ja....

Te colaboro ,diciendo que la foto del cura del pueblo como decían, si fue cura y se convirtió en Juan Pablo segundo ,papa de los años 80 ,el papa de la juventud ,muy popular en esos años sobre todo en América latina vino a mi país Chile y ayudó a que no ubiera guerra contra los hermanos argentinos y hay una estufa a la entrada antigua acá les decimos bracero se colocaba brazas y calentaba muy bien pero era muy tóxico a si que se prohibieron Saludos cordiales desde Chile

Lo dorado ,con la mano es un brasero muy tipico Espanñol habia de muchas cTegorias ,y lo de la bolsa de los licores es un porron que se sigue usando pero no como en los años 40 no habia en todas las casas y los mayores bebian el vino de el porron ,en mi pueblo por las fiestas se hace un concurso de bota que es de cuero y el que mas aguanta se lleva un jamon , me ha gustado mucho la casa y vuestros comentarios ,en España no hay muchas frabricas de cristal fino , un saludo ,maribel .

140x190 cm is normal for Spain and Portugal. The sleeping rooms are mostly small, especially in older houses!
