At the end of a long driveway is a gracious building that was once occupied by a generous Italian wine lord and the many members of his family.
In such buildings, often locked up under lock and key, one can unravel many of the mysteries of the people who once resided here centuries ago.
But sometimes the entrance seems more complicated than it truly is, and the door is just open. Curious explorers as we are, we venture our way inside and look for the family relics that still roam around in this impressive building today.

Imagine 100 years ago when this ancient villa was robustly alive with ppl and agricultural activity. From what is left, it must have been majestically beautifully decorated!

Beautiful and special home captivated immaculately through the lens of your camera with your soft, caring voice telling this families special history. Each home is unique and this one grand with layers of work and love. I get the feeling this home was loving and extremely special to the owners. I love all the layers of history starting from the buildings that have crumbled to the fine living room and the beautiful wing with those magnificient painted ceilings. Wow!! There is so much beauty surrounding the property too. I wish the chapel was open but I wonder if family crypt may have been inside? Writing can never do justice to seeing and seeing could never replace the experience you are having by being there. I know it is a risk when you enter these places (always put your safety first), it is one your viewers no doubt appreciate. Thank you for sharing this. These places just touch my heart. The lives that were lived, hard work, no doubt many prayers, lasting love, and connected family. A reminder that it existed and remains. Take care, stay safe & God bless! xoxo 💖 Kat

How cool it would be to turn some of these amazing places into tourism. Still some wonderful artifacts remain, much of great value. What you called clothes swatters are for rugs, Rug beaters to beat out the dirt in the rugs. They would hang the rugs on a line and then beat them until clean. The steel knobs by the window were used to hold back the curtains/drapes during the day light hours or to keep out the chill. I Love the hidden doors. My Grandmother had one of the fur scarves which were actually small Mink animal pelts worn by women back in the 1940s. Wow, the ceilings are amazing! This place was built as a fortress. You and your team out did yourself this time. Way too cool. Thanks for allowing me to travel with you to Italy.

Those items in the wall that you thought were for hanging something on are for your ďrapes. When the drapes are opened you just slip the drape behind then and you drapes are held open. They are ". Drapery tie back rods" you could either tie the drapery to them to hold them open or just slip drapes behind them. This was a beautiful explore. So enjoyed that. What an enormous place this was. Cool ......

The big pin looking things at 33.00 and again at 48mins are curtain tie backs to keep the material well out of the sun light to stop them fading and the sun damaging the material. Thank you for yet another great adventure in places that I would love to go to but due to an accident 22 years ago I will never be able to travel to seek out adventures to such lovely places so thank you very much.

The bronze round ornament you are pointing out is a curtain tie back, used to drape the curtains when they were open. All is left are the fabric pelmets with they carved supports. The curtains were probably made out of the same rich fabric ! my grandmother's piano was a Kriegelstein ! this is the pianoI learned to play ! I had never seen another piano made by that firm, until watching your video...thanks for this wonderful tour !

Enjoyed this so much! I’m thinking the “kitchen” on the 2nd floor was probably the wash room for laundry - also those wall pins that were near the windows were for curtains to rest when pulled back from windows to allow sunlight in the room. Also the sheds on the main floor I am wondering if those are much older than the home and the home was later built along side and they incorporated the access to the older building.

I think this things that stick out from the wall could be to hold back a heavy drape/curtain .. they seem to always be near a window. . They tended to have one drape on a fairly narrow window. Two drapes would be too much.

The metal rosette you asked about sticking out of the wall? That's a tie back for curtains. They gather the curtains in a sad and attached the sash to that tie back rod. Very common in the Southern United States.

Hello hello again, dear bro Maureno, I finally finished watching your latest video, and woow, what an amazing explore! - Thank you so much for taking us viewers on tour through this fascinating wine mansion. - Already the wine cellar with the huge barrels was very impressive to see. It was also exciting to "walk" at your side through all these rooms in the building itself. Some were really quite ordinary with nevertheless nice furniture, but - as you said - nothing too special. - But then there were these other rooms with beautiful incredibly ornate ceilings, - real masterpieces - and interiors, where I thought they should be preserved as a museum exactly as they were left abandoned with the lavish curtains, the beautiful beds and decorative furniture with lots of smaller remarkable items standing around, - and all the time the photo portrait of that man, who might have been the owner of this massive building and the grounds surrounding the location. - I agree to you, that it is a pity, you couldn't find an access into the private chapel. - I also loved the magnificient views of the countryside, when you were focussing with the camera outside some of the windows. - A wonderful explore, dear friend Maureno! - Have you been there last summer? - I am not quite sure, but somehow the location seemed to be a bit familiar to me, because of a video from Lesley, Bros of Decay. - Could that be the reason? Wishing you all the best, many more inspiring Urbex adventures, dear bro, - peace and kindest regards from rather cold Switzerland.
