When I was young, 50 years ago, a group of us high school students volunteered to spend a day picking rocks from a farmers field and thought it was a fun way too get out of school and also counted towards our gym class.

Do any of your neighboring farms (or even further away "neighboring" farms) have rock pickers that you could maybe rent from them? Having seen in other youtube channels how the fields look so vastly improved after being processed by a rock picker, it hurts to see you struggling with so many many rocks in that one field of yours, knowing how different it could be.

Saw on another channel where they cut off the top half of the garlic first with a bush hog. The bush hog wheel can be removed if it’s running over garlic. And the bush. Hog is up a bit for the right cutting height. Then they do the root cutting like you do. It cuts down the labor needed when trimming the garlic stalks.

Rocks hold moisture and prevent drying out of the soil. Growing in rocky country has advantages. When you tip a rock over in the middle of summer, it is always moist under it.

Beautiful farm. I will make a comment you said something I did find an attachment for a tractor that runs off of a PTO. It was advertised to people with rocky soil as a cultivator it busted the rocks up it has carbine teeth on it and it just goes down like a foot. It takes those rocks and it will busted them or make them smaller. The only thing that I seen was it was flopping the rocks on to the plants. You were having to stop the tractor I for one say do not pick the rocks that the rocks work for you that's mother's nature's Way of making things loomy that's the way that the roots get are they just need to be smaller rocks because some of the rocks that I seen could potentially break equipment. Or damage the crop if your back was hurting or something like that it makes it harder to get off of the tractor and get back on. If I can find the number for that PTO attachment I'll post it on here but I think the price on it was 5000.00 for a brand new unit. But it's not removing the rocks because I'm a firm believer the rocks are there that's what mother nature works with and that's just what you need and it's natural it's minerals I see a lot of farmers remove rocks I say keep the rocks they just need to be smaller you need that rock that's just mother nature they just need to be to whether or not going to damage equipment or damage crops...

Honestly those rocks look like soft Stone. I would imagine you could probably almost get a sponsor for one of those cultivators. From what I read and what I watched if I can find the number for the attachment I will put it out there for you. It was showing Farmers that were trying to open up new fields they were having problems with not rocks but stones big rocks that were hard Stone. Most of what I see from the way I look at it is that looks like sandstone it's not a big deal to bust that stuff up. What it is it's a spinning looks like a stump grinder basically that just goes down in the ground about a foot maybe 18 inches and it's got carbine teeth on it that just bolt and unbolt just like a mulcher for an excavator or a stump grinder...

Your farm is close to the Ochs's farm aka Veggie boys. Maybe you could rent their rock picker or make a farm trade. Of course you can't now during the growing period but there's an idea. Or don't worry about the rocks y'all have been growing productive the whole time with the rocks anyway lol.

I will try to get you a per acre price estimate for a 3-pt mounted rock crusher tiller. I believe the tractor and crusher together cost nearly $1,000,000. I believe the owner is in Indiana or Illinois. I do not yet know how to calculate a Return On Investment But I suspect it will be cost effective for some crops.

I didn't see your comment and made the same suggestion. When you watch the veggie boys and you see the steam coming up in the background, it's from a power plant, and it's the same steam that you see from their farm. So Broyans farm is between the power plant and the Ochs's farm. My guess is maybe 10 miles. I live around 35 miles from Broyan's & 51 to Ochs's. I just looked it up it's only 8.1 miles apart lol.
