Omg I can’t believe Suzanne collins announced a new hunger games book, and it’s going to be about haymitch’s games! So excited, and there’s gonna be a movie too.

They add their names every time the years go on. So when your 11 or 12 your name will be in once, but when your 13 your name will be in twice and so on. They do this until they’re 18 I believe? However, if your desperate for food and rations you can add your name additional times. Hence why Gales name is in the Reaping like 42 times bc he needed to provide for his family.

@@invadertifxiii Nope! I don’t think doing a petty crime ever equated with putting your name in The Reaping. However, it’s been a long time since I’ve personally read the books. Doing a crime like trying to escape would equate to your tongue being cut. Hence the woman you see in the backgrounds who don’t speak serving Katniss, Peeta, etc while their on the train

44:46 The reason Katniss kept him alive during the games is because she felt indebted to him because when she was 11 after her dad died the mum basically shut down leaving Katniss as the sole provider for the family and at one point she had been unable to do so and was on the brink of dying from starvation when Peeta purposely burnt some bread and threw it to her helping her get the strength to do what she needed to do to keep her family alive.

12:22 Haymitch is the 2nd ever and the only living district 12 victor and he won the 50th games as District 12 is the poorest district therefore the tributes barely stand a chance and Katniss is in the 74th so for 24 years haymitch had to mentor and grow to care for 2 children and then have them enter the arena and die and thats not even factoring in the trauma from his own games which was a quarter quell and had twice the amount of the tributes (48) and the consequences of how he won being Snow killing his family and girlfriend.

49:42 you also have to take into account that skills isn't the only thing that matters in the game storyline does too and unfortunately for the 74th games none of the other tributes storylines could've beaten Katniss and Peetas starcrossed lovers so when Cato said he was done for from the start he really was.

I've seen and read the original trilogy back when the movies were first introduced in 2012, i have the mindset of reading the book before watching cause i love this quote that came with the promotion for the books " The Movie shows how, but The Book shows why." Also Cody i love that we like the same one, my favorite is the Catching Fire cause of the story, the continuation, and the character growth. Can't wait to see the other rewatches❤

The hunger games is my favourite trilogy and I honestly can’t wait for the new one about haymitch, which is called sunrise on the reaping, something tells me I’m going to need tissues due to what haymitch said about his girl and his family in the mockingjay book. Haymitch is my favourite character other than katniss.

Thank you for this reaction! This was one of the first movies my late girlfriend and I saw on our first dates. In college we had to do a light show project with music; she chose the end credit music for her light show and it was amazing. I highly agree that Effie Trinket has one of the best character development throughout the series.I eagerly await for your reactions to the sequels! Glad you're rewatching The Hunger Games series. It's kinda appropriate how I revisited The Hunger Games series last year (2023). Suzanne Collins is now making a new novel which focuses on Haymitch's games, which will mean a new movie coming in about 2026. BTW, can you react to Back to the Future Parts II and III?

When you said that your sisters are about the same age as prim what really sucks about that is you are not in the age range to be allowed to volunteer to save them even if you were the same gender and even though even though prim is the first person from 12 to have a sibling volunteer for them it's not to say that that couldn't have happened before hell even in the case of Peeta he does have a brother who is a year or two older than him so he would have been able to volunteer to take his place Also I know you guys haven't seen it very much but since you've seen the complete series I'm going to mention the siblings and number two the siblings in catching fire they're from career district so odds are they volunteered when they were 18 and it was just what you were supposed to do their parents had to be going nuts thinking 2 years in a row they were going to lose a child and then these kids are grown now and they can stop thinking about it but then they both get put in together meaning if one comes home the other one isn't and odds are they're going to lose both of them they are minor bad guys in the movie but I feel so bad for their families is it weird that I gave it that much thought cuz I was very disturbed to find out that two of the champions going in together were siblings who won back-to-back games as I do for the rest of their family and you know everyone getting put back in there has to be angry like Johanna it's just nobody else had the nerve to say that on TV around Caesar flickerman because that's not going to get you sponsors if anything it's going to get your family attacked and as she said in the arena they can't hurt me there's nobody left I love

How can you have read the book and not understand the hand finger gesture ? It’s a sign of respect in this context it was also “thank you for our sacrifice” Katniss said it was used in funerals. So they were saying goodbye to her in the most respectful way they could. Not applauding her but saying thank you and honoring her sacrifice.

Not going to lie when they said in the second movie I don't know if you remember but finnick was the youngest winner ever at 14 doesn't mean there wasn't other 14 year olds who won but they were older than him so let's just say that means not necessarily any other 14 year old one but at least no 12 year old or 13 year old has ever survived the games can everybody hear agree that primm had no chance of being the first 12 year old to win absolutely f****** not

Okay so this is a really good series but if you just watch the original trilogy which was you know turned into four movies you're doing yourself a disservice because the recently released prequel puts a lot of things in context about both the president and the games and I've been hearing for a long time that people want other hunger games movies like are in books like when certain victors want to see what happened during their games but I've always heard that the author is like I'm not writing anything else about it and that just makes you like one of her Capital people for wanting to see that but no we want to see what exactly happened to them so we have more respect for them as a character
