Hot take - If couples don't have disagreements and misunderstandings now and then, then something's off! Or someone's not expressing themselves. Expressing and then resolving is the healthy way to go. Y'all are doing great given the heavy duty challenges in front of you! ❤

Eh… I disagree. While having disagreements and misunderstandings are completely normal and healthy, the lack of them doesn’t mean something is off. I have yet to have a single argument or misunderstanding with my partner of almost 5 years because we are very similar people and communicate things well to each other. Couldn’t ask for a better and easier relationship.

@@greyb5511 kinda a weird comment. It’s giving parasocial vibes tbh… How can you decide whether or not he’s the one for someone you don’t know based on a few minutes of conflict or a couple of specifically chosen clips in a 20 min vlog? When she mentioned being afraid of showing conflict because people would make judgements and claim the relationship isn’t good - that’s you and what you’re doing, right now. You don’t know these people - you know the image they’re putting out into the internet. I’m not saying Dooby is being inauthentic by any measure, but she leads an entire life and relationship outside these short clips that we as viewers are not and should not (healthy boundaries) be privy to. It kinda sounds like you didn’t absorb the message of the vlog: no relationship is perfect and no one is going to be 100% perfect 100% of the time. At times, everyone is going to slip up, argue, be less supportive than they maybe should be in a given moment, take when they should’ve gave, be too absorbed in their own perspective when they should’ve tried to see someone’s else…. It’s all normal and natural. Working through conflict and understand our wrongs is how we grow as people and in relationships.

@@greyb5511 I mean Dooby doesn't make things easy for Kevin either. The whole going to Japan with that other guy just because Kevin was on a vacation there was super weird. Also, she constantly puts him down and belittles him in these videos. Like saying she doesn't feel supported and he's not doing enough work. In every video she's taking shots at him. How would you feel about your girlfriend/boyfriend constantly talking trash about you or your mistakes to millions of people every week? Dooby is not very emotionally intelligent, petty and a bit narcissistic. Any issue she has with someone she just mindlessly broadcasts to the entire world. She's done the same thing with her own mom countless times and even randomly did it to their landlord 10 seconds into this video. If he's already giving them trouble and sees this video you think he's gonna be nicer or more understanding with them? Not a chance. Odds are is he would make things even more difficult for them. But of course Dooby doesn't think about those things at all. She just wants to make it look like she's a superhero doing everything by herself while the world is against her. Typical spoiled rich kid behavior.

When stress is high and you are renovating a house on a time schedule, there will be lots of conflicts and arguments. Tried it myself 1,5 years ago. We learned a lot about our relationship and each other, it really is just a part of growing.

I like the message Dooby is going for, but I do feel uneasy about the "fight" we see here. It's not really a fight since it seems quite once sided. Kevin was tired, lashed out, and probably apologized off camera. It depicts Kevin in a not so flattering way. Since this is Dooby's channel and venture, a more generous thing for her to have done to show a "fight" in the reverse - something she did that was slightly out of line / she will grow from. Otherwise it came off as a bit of a weird power play, saying that you'll grow from a fight i.e., Kevin will improve and not lash out in the future. Is this just me?

I am genuinely wondering if Kevin is getting compensated for this work? Because regardless of the relationship, it's alot to put your hardwork into someone else's dream without any security . Maybe its a pessismistic outlook, but reality is harsh. And I would be pissed too if I was working so hard for someone else's dream and they just showed up looking rich and carefree. It was distasteful and naive. I feel like this is pretty common theme for young 20 somethings on the social sphere. But better to live and learn, than to sit around moping. Good for Dooby I guess.

~my interpretation~ He cares about her and her clothes getting damaged from the renovation (that's nice). He's frustrated because of it too, he hoped to get more help, and while she can technically work in those clothes, it would be a shame and a waste if they get ruined. She will likely have to be more careful while working so she'd be slower and be more careful about which work she'll do to begin with. He probably doesn't want her to get frustrated when her nice clothes get damaged as well. Maybe she wanted to look nice for him too and "be a woman to him" like she said in the last video, but he hoped she'd be more practical (and she'd probably be a woman to him anyway). From the little you've shown us of the relationship, good guy Kevin, seems like he's a keeper. If that's all the level of struggle in the relationship, it seems like things are going well.

@@freja201 gonna speak for myself only. What rubs me the wrong way about the previous video is that the whole act was rushed and nonsensical. She decided to dedicate the last video to him bc she went on a spontaneous last-minute trip to Japan, where Kevin already was. And it’s obvious that it was last-minute bc her booking didn’t even get through by the time they got to the airport. She decided to drag Miguel into that so she could at least visit the google office. It was just a cover up reason for her going where he already was. Then, if you dedicate a video to your guy best friend, why including thirst trapping of yourself showering? And casually adding the scenes where she says she’s not comfortable around her current bf. That was just one big drag. And after posting, there were comments about the whole situation, criticizing it all. Next thing she does, posts this, includes the “bickering” to shift the narrative and pose as a victim.

Honestly if you’re open to putting your relationship on blast and out in the open that’s completely your choice. But I wonder how much reading comments affects influencers romantic relationships. When you’re showing us so much that most people would keep private because they’re personal matters, I wonder if the negative comments and speculation ever come between them, or even if putting this shit on such a public platform is something that causes problems. I don’t think I could personally be with someone who’s willing to put our personal moments on such a public platform. They also don’t discuss or show any resolve to the issue that had occurred, so people can’t help but speculate that this isn’t going to work in the long run. If you’re picking and choosing what parts of your relationship you want to show, but only showing a negative interaction with no resolve, it gives people bad impressions.

of course fighting always sucks, but I have to admit it was refreshing to see in a vlog. because even though, every couple (on YT) always says, that they're not perfect either yadda yadda, it's rarely ever shown. it's understandable, I wouldn't want to film, edit and publish a video of my bf and me fighting but still - seeing it .. was weirdly reassuring and .. almost.. felt good (not in a schadenfreude kind of way but in a "okay, we all got these issues" kind of way)

Aww conflicts are definitely normal in any healthy relationship. It sucks during the moment, but it's good in the long run as you get to see how you two communicate and resolve issues. It's good to work through 'smaller' ones before any more serious ones. It's good to listen to the other's perspective and also articulate your side. Sometimes it will be more clear which side is right BUT that's not what's important - you're a team so you gotta learn to work together through it and not keep score, that will just build resentment.

Showing fights between a couple on social media is always a tricky move. There will always be people who will stay on one side, critique the behavior or give advice (which sometimes can be helpful, other times it's inappropriate). Also a fight can show a side of someone that people might misunderstand. But I'm still proud of you, that you showed the scene. It reminded me of a fight I had with my bf and I'm still learning so much from my relationship with him and how to deal with conflicts. Communication and reflection are key. P.S. I'm the type of girl who will sometimes get teary eyes if my bf slightly raises his voice even though he's not mad at me 🙃 Stay strong and keep your head up 💗

Oooo hmmm. Despite how he felt about your outfit at the renovation site, it's important for you to tell him that it's not okay to talk to you like that. Something like "you look really great, but I'm worried you're gonna hurt yourself, it's stressing me out, and it's adding to the stress that I already feel" works a bit better. Then you can both discuss solutions that will make him happy. This approach focuses on himself, and doesn't put you down in the process, so you can put some energy into making him happy too! My partner and I BOTH had to learn to communicate like this during the covid lockdowns, and it saved us. We went from fighting all the time, to working as a team (that still fights occasionally, but we know what to do to work it out). We get married this weekend 😊 Good luck!!
