I built a 110 foot driveway with a B1750. 80 yards of crushed concrete, or 3.5 full semi loads. It took 100 hours total but it looks so good now, it was worth buying the tractor for this job alone.

Handy video, mate. I’ve ordered a BX with 4 in 1 bucket and I got a driveway to fix up. Saved this video and will definitely refer back to it. Nice workshop, too. Cheers from Queensland, Australia 🇦🇺.

I leave the backhoe on the back of my BX23s when I do stuff like this as a ballast. That thing weighs about 700+ lbs. Easily counters the 600+ lbs. in the front bucket. Great tips!

Nice job! I find myself watching more of your videos here lately. I like to do back drag and after a smooth finish I move over a half bucket then tilt bucket back and push, using the bottom front to grade flat. Hoping it might help out.Works great when you get the hang of it. Thanks for sharing your content

I maintain our quarter mile private road into our property and I've found that the limestone gravel with the fines in it (crusher run, 2a in our area) makes for a great driveway or road. Once it gets wet and packed down it's like concrete. It won't have the tendency to move around like the 57 or in our area 2b gravel. If you ever need to add any gravel you might want to check it out. God bless.

Hey Lucas, I really have learned a ton from your videos. I was on the fence between the BX23S with backhoe or the L2501 and get the BH77 later. Now, after watching your videos and everything that you've accomplished with the little BX, I'm convinced that it will do everything I need it to and more. I'm going to look at a new BX23S at my local Kubota dealership next Friday and can't wait to get some work done. By the way, do your chickens have some sort of death wish? In most of your videos with them in it, it seems their just inches away from being Sunday dinner. LOL! Be safe out there and God bless.

I believe you will be very happy with your choice. Be sure and let us know once you get it! And yes, the chickens love to be right in the action! Lol.

Great job on the driveway Lucas. I love loading and spreading gravel. There's just something about makes a guy feel good. Does that gravel have any fines in it or is all like 3/4 inch size. Thank you for the tips as well. Take care and God bless.

Thanks, Kyle! This is pretty much all 3/4” size. I do enjoy spreading gravel. It’s a good thing, because I’ve spread a lot of it since moving to the homestead!

You need to get you a spill guard from Paul Short. I am planning on getting one for my bx1880, but I dont plan on doing too much loader work with rock. Then again, it would be nice to have if I ever needed it. I have to be more careful than you beause my bx is a lot weaker than yours, but idea is the same. Have you ever check Paul Shorts videos? His last few years have been mostly mods forkubotas, especially the bx ones, but a lot of his earlier videos are cool too. He actually made a soldering video just for lil ole me when I had my first tractor, a MF gc1710, which was lost in a divorce, but he made me a video to help with lighting mods. I am anni g on putting some on mie, which I have a short video of, with some, but not a my mods. You should see the few I got from Paul and Kathy Short. They are totally AWESOME!!

I have a really sloppy side parking area and am thinking about using #57 to make it a more usable area. I've heard to make it 2" deep and another says 4. How deep is what you laid, and since you've had some time to use it, was it deep enough or too deep?
@PeeksPeakHobbyHomestead11 ай бұрын
Well, I built mine up substantially, probably a foot with the creek gravel before adding about 2” of 57. Mine is solid as can be, but it isn’t a great indicator for your situation. I might suggest the driveway/landscape fabric under it. That helps you get by with a lot less gravel base.
@billgriffith127411 ай бұрын
@@PeeksPeakHobbyHomestead Great, thanks for the feedback. I know every situation is different, my area has mud on clay, but I've removed most of the mud so I have a bit more of that to do. There is a bed of fabric and small gravel that's been neglected for quite some time by the previous owners. I'm thinking I'll do 3" and see how that holds. If I need to I'll get something smaller to drop on top to help hold it together.

Nice work. Man rules. You should own at least 3 guns. A rifle, pistol and a shotgun. Your garage should be bigger than your house. Your tractor should cost more than your car and your wife should make less noise than your BX 23S. Oh, and if you can see y’all’s neighbors, you’re too close.
@PeeksPeakHobbyHomestead Жыл бұрын
