We Finally Found the Forbidden Trader Island!

Hey everyone back with more Scrap Mechanic Survival! Today ‪@darealkosmo‬ and I are back in Raft with the new custom game mode! Although we had to start over a new world we did manage to keep our existing raft so all we have to do is sail across the entire map to find the trader!

So glad you guys are playing this mod too. The water-purifier having a plastic bottle to boil water in is actually possible IRL. I've seen people using a balloon and a candle to boil water... as long as there's water on the other side of where the flame is hitting, the heat automatically transfers to the water before getting a chance to burn the plastic.

If the container full of water, it won't burnt on the fire. Even using a paper pot to boiling water it will work. Because the material burning point is much higher than the water boiling point. So the water will keep the temperature low enough to prevent the container on fire.

You can craft floor pieces that are lighter than simple wood, you could replace the first floor of the ship with them.

2 Ideas: A: For the stairs, you can place the activation/deactivation button for the sails (or propellers) at the stairs. That way you can just slow down for a second whenever you want to get upstairs. Or just go the Scrapman way and ascend via toilet seat or bed. B: You should be able to safely utilize the bottom floor if you attach all the crafting stations to the ceiling. (This was inspired by Kosmo just slapping down the workbench sideways to make the collection nets.) The bottom floor can be for the craftbot, workbenches, water purifier, grill, ... while only the plots for growing plants and the beds need to go on the top where they can be upright. Bonus tip: Punch small access holes into that floor and you can access any object from either floor. Bonus bonus tip: If you make the level high enough you'll be able to freely walk around below all the items.

kan, you can boil water in a plastic container, the water acts as like a cooler that allows the plastic to not melt but the water to boil.

@@justminibanana9128 Stuff can melt without burning Polycaprolactone (PCL) melts at 60 degrees C, and it actually becomes soft enough to shape with your hands in hot water And with paper buckets you would want to use something that doesn’t break apart when wet lol

@@justminibanana9128 well u kinda answered ur own question if the material burning/melting point is higher then 100° then it works BUT there is actually quite alot of plastic that melts at below 100°C sooo it wont always work also ur very unlikely to succeed in purifying anything that is in a paper cup cause 1st. That takes longer then a usual papercup will be able to withstand them heat 2nd. U rly dont want to add CO2 and other nasties from the burning paper in ur purifier it would just contaminate the water

You can cook eggs over a campfire in a paper bag, I'm pretty sure the science behind letting that happen without the paper bag lighting on fire also would prevent the plastic jug from melting. It just needs to be close enough to the fire to warm up and water to the point it would condensate, so it's far from boiling. Technically room temperature water can do that out doors.

I think when you rebuild the raft you should really make it more ship-like. like wherever the waterline should be, you'd have all the raft base peices. Maybe some blocks below the waterline just for decoration, and then like, multiple floors above, a huge mast for sails ect. A proper ship. That was one thing that the raft didn't seem to be able to do, was allow you to build a proper boat.

as someone who lived in california, scorch lines surprisingly actually are like that all the time XD literally massive forest fire burning millions of acres, and it just goes right up to a house with dead trees, and not a single ember hits this house, and stops just INNNNNNCHES from the property line of this house in a perfectly straight line, and then it just stops and changes directions XD

About the plastic distiller you can actually boil water in a plastic water bottle the water on the inside prevents the plastic from catching on fire in most cases it’s actually pretty neat

Actually while the water is inside the bottle the bottom would not melt because water will never let it heat up above a 100C
