Greg look up a proportioning valve. basically you have to open either the front or rear brake system push the brake pedal and it will move a piston in the proportioning valve turn off your brake light. basically a hydraulic failure safety light

I had the same issue with mine and the 3800 spring. For me it wasn't the spring at all. You have to make sure to take a picture of where your throttle shaft was indexed prior to removing the components to be sure it goes back in the same location. It is really easy to mess up. Also if you didn't adjust the idle you will need to. Flip the idle adjustment screw around so you can adjust the idle without removing anything too.

Stoked to see Pap Scrap blowing smoke! The illuminated brake light is a common issue for the 1st gens and the 2nd gens.... I pulled the light out on my last 12V.

You did so much extra work swapping the 3200 spring back, you just needed to index the throttle linkage a notch or two to increase idle. Pressing the fuel peddle would have shown you it runs with the 3800 spring but dies when you let off. Good work man, you'll be a first gen expert in no time.

you should look into getting an M&H timing spacer for the pump, it helps a ton eith high end power, allows the punp to advance itself more. plus then you can have all the low end ve pump torque and still have plenty of top end.

"3800" spring will need to be trimmed in order to work properly, or adjust your throttle indexing, but that will limit your fueling. Also, for 3800 you will want to upgrade to 60# valve springs. Brake light could be as simple as the pedal "button" being stuck under the dash or it being slightly bent and not coming off the "button".
@trevormangus7832
@trevormangus7832 7 жыл бұрын
John Casteel I believe he was referring to the idiot brake fault light on the dash not the exterior light probably needs to read bleed the brakes and get the proportioning valve to cycle

You probably didn't know but you can burn a water pump up if you start it with the belt on and no coolant in the block. Its supposed to have coolant to keep it from burning up and wearing out the seals.

not supposed to fill fuel filters on common rail, just an FYI. leads to injector problems because the filters are filtering down to the size of a blood cell. plus they have a lift pump which makes startup nice and easy. mechanically injected engines will be just fine though.
@alexandergordon8477
@alexandergordon8477 7 жыл бұрын
the reason most manufactures dont recommend prefilling filters is because that fuel doesnt get filtered. so that unfiltered fuel is going straight into your injection pump and into your inectors..

Whenever you start a 12v instead of sitting and waiting for it to crank, as soon as you turn the key to crank it barely press in the fuel peddle. It will start immediately with a puff of smoke!

Just an FYI the 3800 and 4200 spring is useless on the ve pump! You will have more problems with them when the 3200 spring can do the same thing. Have 120hp injectors, fass, pump almost maxed out, had an hx40 on it... blew it on the dyno lol. And more stuff. But I turned 4200-4300 Rpms when It was on the dyno with the 3200 spring.

I have a question for you my brother. Are you going to put a by-pass oil filter w/oil cooler on it also? I have a 94 5.9 with the Pee pump and that is what I am doing now. I will be hooking it up next Saturday. I have the by-pass filter from Napa and base. found a nice oil cooler that I am going to install after the filter. What are you thinking about this?
