One thing to remember in the years ahead when you become empty nesters….you will be having grandbabies, children come to visit and you will need room….lots of room. This is great that you’re staying but don’t be too quick to downsize. Speaking from experience here! 🙄😉

So glad y'all get to stay. We know how much u love the house and land. I have posted before....you can change the house.you can't change land/lot size. Which is one of the best things about your current house. I live in Oklahoma so we have large lots ect but how hard would it be in your part of California to get another home on a good size piece of land?

So glad you might be staying. Your large back yard is large enough to maybe have a treehouse/swingset and an enclosed trampoline. Plenty of space for all the kids to run around. You are blessed to have such a beautiful house and large yard. I hope you get to have a garden.

The kids pediatrician told me to put the drop in the corner of the eye, no matter if it was closed or open. We've dealt with pink eye. During the process, you use the hand not administering the eye drops to hold the arms of the kiddo down to his body. Doing this on a changing table or counter is ideal. Good luck!

Late now but you could totally add ruffles into the cape hood and bottom of the cape to make it last longer for her to dress up in as she grows! I am VERY impressed with your sewing skills, especially with silk! That is such a hard material to work with!

I heard a trick for making eye drops easier for kids (or anyone, really): lay them down. Have them close their eyes really tightly and put a drop in the corner of their eye. Have them blink fast several times and it's in! Obviously, it sounds super easy on paper, but maybe it will be less traumatizing for them and it will get easier with time. :)

Don’t be hard on yourself about the cape. Especially near Emma. She will love it. Because you made it. And because she’s a toddler;) but if you tell her you did a bad job, she could copy that. She could be hard on herself as well.

Awe, Emma was so greatful when she saw her cloak for Little Red Ridinghood 💖. I remember how our mom would make us things for school and Our Halloween costumes I think it was so much fun and it helps them to a gratitude for all thing's hand made. Figure out the septic price before you get too far - and definitely get a few bids! The first company we saw told us we needed a new system with a $30k price tag and the second one told us we just needed to replace the drain field and repair the tank - less than $5k! 🤦🏼‍♀️

Definitely figure out if you need to upgrade the septic tank, and how much that will cost. Before you start the process and file paperwork. My girlfriend built a house and they said she would have to upgrade the septic tank if they kept the extra room in the plans she had. Because of occupancy. It is ridiculous the room was only for a craft room/storage room. So it had to not be insulated and considered cold storage. Don't get me wrong, you definitely don't want too many people using a septic tank built for fewer people. It would fill up to fast and that is not good.

I used to trade off twins in taking them grocery shopping. They love one on one special time with mom. We forget sometimes their twins but always don’t have to do things together. You did a great job on the cape she will love it❤️

Eye drops don't generally burn. He probably just didn't like it. Try a drop in your own eyes, then you'll know if it burns or not.

I love following a pattern you have to plan out your stitches. Use stick pins and put it together to give a ruff idea. Always follow the patterns instructions.

I have a 4 bed 2 bath and an office. One tank. Im in fl so im not sure what you have in average size but ours are 900 gal and you either have 1 of them or two of them. Because septic tanks today are actually plastic. Mine is concrete because the house was built in 08 before plastic. But my 900 gal is fine and I have it pumped yearly because I have 3 kids who use the bathroom and that’s a lot of toilet paper waste and I even have one kid who uses “flushable” 🤣 wipes. So she gets pumped yearly. It’s way cheaper than a bill every month even with pumping yearly. But 900 is standard in our area. Like you can’t have one smaller. So you probably have at least that.

1st off that Cape is adorable, you did a great job for your first time. 2ndly: so glad your staying and adding on, cant wait to see the finished project. 3rdly: oh we had so much struggle with Michael putting eye drops in his eyes, he got pink eye alot. We litterly had to strap him in his carseat tilt the carseat back and my mom held his arms and I put the eye drops in, corner of the eye and I believe out peditritrian for him said of the eye was closed it was fine because when he open his eyes it would fall in there and we told him to blink a few times, then we sat him up and he was free to go play, he also has ADHD, he is 20 now.
