The actor who played Randy (Jamie Kennedy) said one of the producers told him a few years ago that killing Randy was the worst mistake they ever made in the franchise. I'm laughing so hard at "Now Ghostface got some sort of tampering device" - My friends, back in the day you could only walk so far away from the base of a cordless phone before the call started breaking up. It was the dark ages and I've never felt older than I do right now. But I am loving your reactions and I'm so glad you both are enjoying these movies. I was like seven or eight when the first movie came out and my mom took me to see it (I know - but she loved horror movies too). They were so meta while being groundbreaking at the same time. Fun facts; The house that cece (Sarah Michelle Gellar) died in was also in hocus pocus. Also Sarah was so fast (because of her role in buffy the vampire slayer) that they had her wear heels to slow her down. Also originally Hallie was supposed to be a killer along with Mickey (and for a short time Derek was considered to be a killer too) In the scene where gale runs into cotton after Dewey is attacked, cotton was lured there by Debbie Salt (aka Mrs. Loomis) who can immediately be seen put front on the phone (after framing cotton on the scene) Hope these were fun for you! I have see all the scream films religiously and know alot of them haha

So for in this movie, it's pretty easy of a breakdown on which killer did what. Ms. Loomis was only interested in Gale obviously since she was constantly on her heals lol and Sidney, but she couldn't risk Sidney seeing her till she was ready cause she'd recognize her like she did right away in the final Act. Gale because she literally wrote a book about her son and how she helped Sidney to kill her beloved angel of a son lol. Sidney also for obvious reason cause she did kill her son and her mom was what broke her family. Ms. Loomis tried to kill Dewey as a collateral he was someone that Gale really cared for and was there with her, like how Billy was someone she cared for. Randy was NEVER the target he didn't play any critical role in her son's death it was meant for Gale, hense, the statement, "Why are you even here Randy". But HE answered HER phone and talked bad about her son so she got knife happy like she explained to Sidney at the end. Mickey was the actual copycat he gave the tickets to Phil Steven's and Maureen. Also killed CiCi, obviously Hallie, Derek and the detectives. He was only allowed to torment Sidney, which he did mentally, but she was to be left for Ms. Loomis to act on her revenge

Fun Fact: If you listen closely during the Gale chase scene, you can hear Mrs. Loomis’s grunts when Ghostface stumbles around. When she stabs Dewey, you can also hear a vicious feminine growl.

That's not really true. It was male stunt people in the costumes and Craven said he didn't want to do anything to indicate who was under the mask at any given time. Craven considered Ghostface his own entity. So, though there may have been grunts, them sounding feminine is just your interpretation.

Wes Craven (THE DIRECTOR) said he purposely avoided do anything to indicate who was under the mask. There was actually quite a bit behind the killers being chosen for the movie. honestly there are way too many articles about this for me to go back and remember for sure which of the "Urban Legends" about the scripts were right. plus during the releases of the newer movies the writers have done more interviews talking about what really happened and honestly not even sure if they are just saying some things to make themselves sound more clever about still being able to surprise the audience with the reveal of the killers. but the "original script" was leaked online. however the director later confessed that it was a fake script meant to throw people off as the real script was also leaked and no one believed it because the fake script made everyone doubt it so much. and a bunch of other fakes were thrown out online all over the place as well. I can't remember if it was the fake script or another legit leaked script, but there was rumored to be 4 killers; Nancy, Cotton, Hallie and Derek. which would have made sense based on how some of the scenes played out. it would have been another fake out death with Hallie and it was too obvious that Mickey was a killer the whole movie, but would have made more sense as a red herring. I also think that it would have been a lot harder to write a realistic conclusion where Sid escapes from 4 killers at once with only Gale left to help.
