I've found there are so many things to do at Adepticon, if you don't schedule hangouts or dinners you're going to miss a lot of connections, so planning and pre-arranging is a big part of a good con experience. I'm really glad you guys got to experience it! It would be amazingly cool to see a sponsored booth, or something set up just for TTT at a future con! I wouldn't have any choice but to make the trip down then! I've also mentioned this before, but since it was asked for - I would absolutely love more vloggy / chill content. I like to paint work on creative things along with videos most of the time, and vlog / podcast style is the best for it!

It was great meeting your crew this year at Adepticon. It can feel like drinking from the firehose on your first visit. There is just so much to see and so many faces that some of us regulars we tend to forget how big it is. The even has grown so much over the years to what you are seeing now. Hopefully next time you get a chance to attend you can bring a model for the Meat Grinder. We had to tone it back a little this year but next year it will me an official event and we look forward to grinding a few minis with you. Thanks also for showing me the next release for Space Bears. I can say that i share your experience with going to a con. The first time you go, the con itself is the event for you, but without a plan, that isnt as enjoyable. When you find events within the con that you want to participate in, thats when the con comes alive.

I felt similarly when I went to my first adepticon (and I live only 5 minutes from the convention). Your second time, you know what to expect and you should make specific plans. It's a long convention to just "hang around" once you see everything.

My understanding as the swap meet has changed to one night only and it’s at the other hotel. In the past it’s been amazing, but I’ve missed it last few years as we’ve gone out to eat that night. Bitz Guy store is pretty solid.

Thanks for the interesting view. As a European, always wondered what these massive American Cons are like! If you do go to the UK, you should totally align to be in London on the Salute weekend. It is much smaller than Adepticon, and only 1 day, but still a great chance to meet vendors and buy minis!

This is probably the best review of Adeptacon I have seen. I am not surprised that the con culture is different than what we have in Australia. You do need to go to Nottingham and the Lead Belt, if only to worship the goddess Sugs. Surprised to see Wargods get a look in. My mate was big in the original Aegygtus game, and got me to play one CanCon event, but they really need a new version of the rules.

Fort Wapple, named after James and Cathy Wapple, the painting/hobby space that grew out of their love of painting is a great place to meet up and see everyone. The bits swap used to be so much larger with them dedicating an evening to person to person swaps. Hopefully they will advertise it more for 2025.

BUSHIDO!!! I love that game so much, I've been playing it for over a decade now, its gorgeous models and in my opinion the best skirmish rules out there. And yeah I loved this video, was perfect while painting.

I've gotten an entire army of Enclave Troops from the Modiphius Fallout Wasteland Warfare line(minus the Hellfire set, but that's because of a funny story) and yeah they're a fantastic quality sculpt with a very straightforward rules that anyone trying to go from playing Pathfinder or D&D and wanting to dip their toes into Wargaming, I couldn't recommend picking that game up any higher. It is the perfect in-between of "Dungeon and Dragon Rules" and "40k Rules"

The second trip is always the best. Next time you know what to expect and you will have a better plan. Enjoy them while they last. You never know when the quality of the conventions will drop, so go as much and try to enjoy the whole process next time.

So happy you guys had a good time at adepticon. I played dark elves as a kid when i got in to fantasy in the early 90s , still got all the pewter once somewhere. And kimera does that with there models, do them i several sizes, 200mm, 75mm and 38mm. And if you think the States are expenciv then you should not come to europe, we are much more expenciv than the US

I went with some friends in 2017 and i got that bubble feeling, too. It seems like you really need to schedule stuff or know where things are going down before you go. Also, a lot of the free events are kinda disorganized. It was cool overall but i feel like the next time you go will probably be better.

I'll probably never get to go, but I think I'd feel a lot of what you experienced. Like many things, you really need to meet up with friends there to go and have good times together. While I'd like to buy lots of different/peculiar things, when I see the prices of what people show from their Adepticon loot bags, it really doesn't seem like you're getting good deals at all. I'd have to really want the item for what I see people paying. I think signing up for some painting classes would be a good use of time, as well as making an effort to try different game demos. I like the idea of an additional reveal show where hobby companies and game designers have 5-10 minutes to show off their best new things.
