The thing you were talking about with thinking "what if I fall down the stairs?" is called having intrusive thoughts. Impulsive thoughts are light stuff like "oh what if I just ate this entire cupcake hehe" but intrusive thoughts are often very negative thoughts about something harming yourself or others. They're intrusive because we don't want them and also they don't correlate to something we want. People will have intrusive thoughts about punching someone in the face or "oh what if I slipped and these scissors cut off one of my fingers." You don't actually want to do any of that but the thoughts happen anyway, making some people feel very guilty. They're perfectly normal when you have other mental health conditions so don't worry about them! And definitely don't let it get to you when others are like "wtf is wrong with you" as it's not like you can control them and it doesn't mean you'll act on them. People are just ignorant on mental health issues due to a lack of information.

I’d suggest getting the teleporter so you can beam dead bodies back or when people are in trouble. It won’t bring the items back tho but recovering bodies will be less penalties. Also don’t leave your flash lights on the entire time. Just click on and off. Water starts rising at about 6pm. Also there’s a mod to add an extra player.

I feel like Zap gun just stun the enemies but it feels so bad and useless. The enemies that isn't killable is Jester, Coil head and the ghost girl and of course giant, worm. You can stun the coil head for split seconds You can also stun the giant which can help you run and escape. For the worm, when you hear the rumbling sound, just run. Don't stay or turn around, just run, drop your loot items.

The stun gun is so useful! Idk why people don't use it! My friend and I were killing brackens left and right, we got sooo much more loot! One person has to stun while the other kills. And as you mentioned it's super useful for getting away from giants!

Stun guns are VERY useful. You just HAVE to pair it with a shovel if you really wanna do anything other than stunning. My group have dealt with nutcrackers, thumpers and bracken easily with these things. Now, some of these things you can deal with without the stun gun (thumpers have a stunlock exploit and they're bad at turns. You can literally run them in circles and back stab them, spiders just gotta back it up calmly while it's walking to you and shovel at the same time). You don't need it against the jester because everyone can just leave for it to reset, the ghost girl is manageable. Coil heads too and if you have a terminal guy, you can team up to lock it in a sealable room (otherwise just deal with it, unless there's like 3 and you're all alone than you're more screwed). The best enemy to use this on to take out with the least amount of risk in my cases were nutcrackers. Especially if you're in a group and it's more difficult to crowd control its ai for the corner/pillar shovel cheese.

I think it's really just intrusive thoughts. Which is a symptom of ADHD and she has that. (I do as well.) And I doubt she WANTS to think about doing those things, like falling and hurting herself gruesomely. Which is part of what makes me think it's intrusive thoughts. But no, there's not really anything you can do about it, it doesn't go away. You can't take medicine to get rid of it. You simply have to find ways to cope. It sucks.

It's normal to have "weird" fears. It's your brain assessing risks, even if it's unnecessary/excessive sometimes. It's only if it starts becoming detrimental to your normal functioning that it's a problem. Imo the people who told you that you needed therapy for it crossed a line. One of my fears crops up when I'm taking the trash out at night, and I think "What if someone sprints at me from the darkness right now?" (thanks, Smiling Man creepypasta lmao). A more silly one is when I reach into a box of coke cans and I worry a spider will bite me :'D

Zap gun just stuns enemies to give you a chance to get away. It's for use on unkillable enemies. I don't think they can be used on unscannable enemies/entities since they're more haunting you specifically. The official Fandom Wiki gives you the spawn rates for each moon but I find them inaccurate just based on watching the four of you play. The Nutcracker is guaranteed to give you at least two bullets upon death but if you can kill it before reload, you can get four. There can be multiple at the same time. Jester, Coilhead, and the worm are unkillable under any circumstances and there may be a few more I'm forgetting. Stun does virtually nothing to Coilhead and the "popped" Jester, the one chasing you, can be delayed by an additional 20 seconds if stunned. The Jester will automatically reset if all living players exits the building he's in. His run speed is determined by proximity to the closest player on the map.

The amount of people that are uneducated about ADHD is astounding, especially given how much of the population has it.(The amount of people that spread misinformation and harmful stigmas is even more astounding.) I have ADHD myself. A negative symptom of ADHD is intrusive thoughts. These thoughts are random and unwanted. They can vary from things like Gab mentioned about falling down the stairs and being hurt in gruesome ways, to things like harming yourself or others(even loved ones you care deeply for). These things are NEVER things you would ever want to do or want to happen( hence why they're called intrusive). These thoughts can affect those with them every day very much, causing distress and anxiety, or worse depending how frequently they happen.

Sorry for the multiple comments lol. I’m commenting while watch but the shovel and the yield and stop signs are great for smacking the centipedes off the heads. Also the walkietalkies are helpful in knowing who is still alive or not. If you don’t have a teleporter you can pick up bodies and bring them back to the ship. Also bodies are work 5 each so if you have a shovel or sign you can kill your teammates if you a little under quota lol.

23:33 The intrusive/compulsive/impulsive/whatever you wanna call it thought thing is literally just the way your brain processes information in real time as someone with ADHD or similar neurodivergencies. Your brain imagines something horrible happening as it's way to warn itself about it so you're careful. The problem is that it should normally happen subconsciously without us really noticing but those thoughts just get triggered by some strong emotion or association and so it's processed differently. Similar to people's reaction to PTSD, OCD and phobias. Even when you're aware it's irrational or you can't understand why you just had that thought. Don't fret about it, know that's how your brain works as it's different from others. Those thoughts do not reflect who you are as a person as some people get distressed when the thoughts are upsetting or actually go against their values. It's like the brain is playing "what if" to try and figure out something like the best next action or how to avoid something bad or just be paranoid wondering if you're in danger and maybe SHOULD do something against it. People like attributing individual things to separate categories in an effort to explain them but when you look into the brain itself and what part of the brain controls or manages that and why it happens it actually makes a lot of sense that it's shared as a "comorbidity" across many neurological conditions. Which means also what helps deal with similar symptoms also helps with others like them even if they're considered from various different condition you may or not have. The point of it all is.... that's just how a neurodivergent brain processes information and there's nothing wrong with that unless you're actually suffering lots of distress and need support to manage and understanding why.

While I used to work as a paramedic I used to drive a mountain route that had mountain to one side and cliff to the other and it was constant curves. One specific part of the road was a curve that had no railing and you could literally drive right down the cliff by just driving in a straight line with nothing but the trees below to stop you. I hated driving by it because every single time I did my mind would just start this mini movie of me driving through it, my car falling and smacking the tree all the way down, wondering if I'd survive and how would I ask for help, even how would they rescue me since the cliff seemed so deep and it was a forest down there. I couldn't keep myself from thinking this and sometimes I'd actually say "Stop it!" out loud and purposely redirect my thoughts somewhere else but I literally could not stop myself from thinking it every single time. This same thing happens with so many other stuff usually things I'm afraid of that could hurt me or someone else. I would freak out if I saw someone near a cliff and I myself wouldn't go near one I thought was dangerous. It's just an annoying irrational fear that my brain just LOVES brining up to the surface to process and annoying me with. PS. I am AuDHD and my own brain pisses me off.

I feel you about walking down stairs and imagining how you'd hurt yourself if you fell. I do the same thing, but both up and down. My apartment complex has concrete stairs, with open spaces under each step (there's an actual term for that kind of staircase, but it escapes me atm), so I'm constantly worried about catching my toe in that spot and falling forward, and either breaking my teeth or cutting my lip open or worse. And going _down_ those stairs is worse, cause if I fall down those, I'm either hitting the metal handrail and splitting my skull, or I'm breaking a leg, at the very least gouging it open I won't walk under flyovers or other concrete structure, because I'm terrified it'll fall on me. Don't care that cars are driving over the top of it every day with no issues, the minute I'm under there, it's going to collapse and bury me under concrete, rebar, and whatever vehicles happened to be overhead. And my bad luck, I won't even be dead for it, just stuck for hours, waiting to be found and unburied I constantly worry about walking anywhere by streets, that someone is going to lose control of their car and hit me, but not quite killing me, just leaving me paralyzed in some capacity. Any time I'm in an area where there are alleys or other kinds of hiding places, I worry about someone jumping me, either to rob me or rape me. If I see a car behind me while driving for more than a mile, I start worrying if that person is following me, and what they might be planning to do, usually ending with me either robbed, raped, dead, or some combination thereof We live in a dangerous world. Maybe thoughts like these are the paranoid results of an overactive and anxious imagination, but there's nothing wrong with them. They can be helpful on occasion, as long as they don't develop into full blown paranoia. :)

Fyi every enemy that you can kill needs to be hit 3 times, there is one that needs 5 but i don't think you've met him yet. Eta - nm I see you did meet the soldier yeah he takes 5 hits and you can have his gun! Also, if you don't have a shovel and you can get yoursef or team mate to an exit door while a bug is on their head it'll disappear when you step outside.

Intrusive thoughts are not uncommon, but if your thoughts about stairs start preventing you from getting onto stairs or otherwise negatively impact your life, then it becomes a problem. Since you are already in therapy, you can ask your therapist for insight about whether those are a major issue for you. Otherwise, it's your perfectly normal survival brain working as evolution built it to work. This does not necessarily mean it is actually helpful to your survival in this day and age, but the brain takes an astounding number of shortcuts at the expense of actual accuracy.
