The last two stroke I owned a couple years ago was a 98 KX250. It was by far the most powerful 250 I've ever owned. And as far as I understand correctly it was also the most powerful KX250 they ever made. Totally wish I never got rid of that one.
@LastCall5342 жыл бұрын
Last KX I owned was an 07 and last year of the Kx250 two stroke. Nick named the stink bug for the way the rear fender looked and a bit finicky handling. Pro Circuit made a bottom link that helped with the geometry. Mine was a factory incentive bike given to James Stewart, stock, never raced. I found it in shambles at a local bike shop, never touched the engine, just restored mostly everything else. I'm not pro or even intermediate, but what a machine. Raced a couple of local seasonal races and it would pulled KTM 450's on the starts. The one bike I wish I'd have kept. 🙄

They had actual power bands unlike Honda that didn’t so it was a little stronger so was the KX500 to! My cousin has both! I myself have street bikes a 2016 GSX-S1000 and 2015 CBR300R! But I grew up on dirt bikes owned a bunch myself!! I normally road a yamaha WR but road them all at one point. KX500 is my favorite you can throw 40’ rooster tails with the power that bike has! You don’t dare bring that power in on concrete In a low gear you will be on your ass sliding! 😂

There will probably come a time when Mx bikes can develop no further , you can only go so fast over a rough piece of ground and suspension development must be near it's peak , so where do they go ? I'm sure that with a good rider on them this RC 250 you found here or an early 2000 2 stroke 250 wouldn't be a million miles behind some of the latest machines on the market today. I of course say this as a massive 2 stroke fan !! Keep up the great work , this channel is gold dust for 2 stroke fans.

Stephen everts had a pretty much the same bike when he was with rwj racing in the uk. Lots of trick bits, map button for starts, and as said in this vid that interrupted the ignition as the gears were changed while flat out. Dream of a bike. On the 80’s and 90’s CR250’s there is a trick to starting them from cold. Choke on, 2nd gear selected, wide open throttle and rock it back a forwards 3 or 4 times. Then take it out of gear and will start on 2nd or 3rd kick. Otherwise you’ll be there all day kicking it over.

David Coates was in second place in one of the motos on a fairly stock YZ250, so in that era, even though the top riders had kitted or semi factory bikes, talented locals could stay with the factory bikes.
