And why didnt u do best of 3 on each bike trading riders? That kx 450 would prob be close if not beat that 500. All depending on traction and rider.

In like 2000 I was in the shop by which I was sponsored & NESC Vet guy who’d mentioned to me in the pits at the Southwick national that he had a Honda CR500 motor in a CR250R Aluminum chassis, & he was looking at parts in the shop & he asked my race mechanic “is this for a CR500?!” & my race mechanic responded “No!! I don’t stock parts for shitboxes!!”

There was a Yamaha WR450F 2Trac sold in NZ a couple years ago, 2006 and super tidy sold for just over $10k which is probably just over double what a similar condition standard WR450F would be selling for

I owned and raced one in rally moto and the 2020 Mint 400 state-side, as you can see in my profile picture. Never had any issues with legality in those racing disciplines. I loved racing it when I was still racing up till 2 years ago. It never got stuck or left me stranded.

During highschool years I rode a lot did a lot of trail and homemade tracks, had 4 strokes and 2 strokes. My all time favorite was just a CR 80. Yeah I wasn't a big guy or anything, and the little cr 80 with my light self would run with my friends 250. Now, my bike was about 5 years newer (95 or 96) I believe was mine CRs model. He had put a larger sprocket, increased low end on his. He was a good 75 or 100 pounds heavier than me. The landscape was for advanced riders for the most parts around abandoned strip mines, mountains and remote regions. Yeah the 4 strokes were better climbing in tight spots, but nothing compared to the powerband of a two stroke. I shaved the heads, had some carb work, and did a few other things to it. For a little 80 it was deceptive.

A two stroke engine with the sort of electric motor but only better in the front wheel like electric bicycles have over here in the Netherlands. Sort of hybrid system but you can turn it on and off with the flick of a switch. I think that would be awesome.
@baltasarcorreatente3535Күн бұрын
Se comparar a cilindrada com a potência a 450 é mais eficiente que a 2t Os motores quatro tempos evoluíram muito enquanto os 2t ficaram parados no tempo

You cant compare a 2 stroke to a 4 stroke

I got to see an 1190 adventure with system installed (I guess it was a demonstrator vehicle). I am an engineer by trade and don’t typically work in this type of environment but I can at least have an educated eye, and tell you it’s not a POS. It’s actually quite clever. It’s just a very specialized machine for a very specialized environment. They’re actually pretty much Unstoppable in the sand dunes.
@AsaIrish-v3g22 сағат бұрын
@ oh it’s quality in all directions! But….. every component and every aspect of performance is compromised by adding torque and slicing pieces out of chassis. This is the best 2wd motorcycle ever engineered,hands down! But I’ve competed at the professional level in 3 disciplines of motorcycle racing and understand that 2wd is in no way a performance advantage! But credit to your point it is impressive!

It seems like a good idea but 6kg is a lot and what makes is worse is that most of that weight is at the front end, even worse than is some of that weight will be high up around the headstock. With rear wheel drive it allows you to setup 'over steer' i.e hang the back end out to a degree, I wonder whether 2 wheel drive causes the bike to understeer? (Probably not a problem for enduro but might be an issue for MX).
