Not considering that the rich have provided the current living standards to most of the world, hoisted god knows how many communities out of poverty....second of all, to be among the top 1 global per cent youd need to make more than 30,000$ annually, so if youve gone to high school and definitely if you attended college in the west, you are considered to be one of the most privileged people who have ever lieved, if you take into acvount that even parisians used to live on fewer than four dollars a day. You cant concurrently be opressor and oppressed. Having said that, its by no means obvious how a society is supposed to funnel funds down the social structure, because the money just tends to move back up. Any domain where something of creative value is to be pursued is governed by this law (called the Pareto distribution); scores in sports, music composed, paintings painted, medical inventions per country, and yes: money. This is largly due to the fact that the tich dont stay rich by power, but rather by competence. Most wealthy people or at least the ones ee consider to be of entrepreneurial spirit who dont just end up on a net negative revenue are people who have made it themselves. If youre willing to work 80 hours a week, then you can be sure that most modern societies will be willing to reward you (which is not to say that a lack of diligence or conscientiousness is what keeps countries poor, although unconscientious people can make it much worse for themselves) The assumption that theres something implicitly wrong with the people who provide the products we need to survive is the basic marxist idea that fuled the preponderance of mass murders in the 20th century, mainly in soviet russia and maos china. The last instantiation of that ill-formed idea is North Korea where up to 30,000 people can be imprisoned should they be found guilty of having any connection to a land owner or someone who tried to run a business. You have reduced an unimaginably large amount of people into one group identity which paints one group as being benevolent and the other as evil. We ran that experiment already and we have the corpses to prove it. I cant do anything for the fact that most of us arent taught anything about the mass murderers of the last century, with the exception of Hitler, or that most people dont encounter basic economics. One solution to that is to tax the people who provide you with products (essentially taking away money from the only people whod know what to do with it) and funnel it down to bad education and healthcare. Sorry, but that doesent work either because youve just taken away any gratification that would arise from entrepreneurship.

@@historyeditz8326 kzbin.info/www/bejne/ipSoiIWvoLiarac So? Once again, after explaining it somewhere else in the comments, thats the law that governs every domain where anything of creative value is pursued. A minority of people perform much better than the wast preponderance of other people. Even if we are more unequal, do you belive that youre worse off than your grandparents? You need to be making more than 30,000 $ do belong to the global one per cent (which today isnt even that much) and among those people there are those who own the majority of that... statistically speaking you and i, considering that we have the time and resources to engage in a conversation on the internet are among the top 5 per cent of people who have ever lived, and i even come from one of the poorest and dilapidated places in europe, thus you cant be opressor and oppressed simultaneously. Of course we're trying to come up with government policies that make it easier for the rich because they in turn have it easier in relationship with their businesses, which means that they can innovate, employ more people, expand, diversify etc. You can find a book called "the rational optimist" wbere the auhtor explains the unbelievable rise in peoples living standards, the fact that weve brought so many people out of poverty, and the miracles of technology. If you want to propose that we should indenture some kind of policies which would tax the rich, then i can immediately tell yo uthat that doesent work, because (1) youre taking away resources from the most competent people society has produced and (2) we dont know hot to sufficiently allocate funds so that they stay on the lower echelons of society, because money just tends to move up. However that doesent change the fact that you and i have it much better and suffer way less due to the work of welathy people. Theres also another thibg that needs to be addressed, which is the question: "how do welathy people accumulate such wast amounts of money at all?" One answer to that is that they have opressed other people in order to facilitate their continuing accession of power and compounding of welath. That has partly been true in medieval europe and even post-reneiscance europe, however that doesnet change the fact that such malevolent undertakings have then been viewed as virtuous and noble. The then politically trendy ideas have nothing to do with our current understanding of moral virtue and nobility, which just proves that morality is the result of cultural nesting and that the individual is full of snakes. In its socio-economic utilisation, the idea of the power hierarchy has manifested itself within the ethos of Marxism (which killed around 60 million people in the 20th century both directly and indirectly throigh faulty government policies and deceit btw) In short: whatever produces the gap between the wealthy and the poor is not power, we now have unbelievable living standards, the world has never been a kore peaceful place due to sich realisations, and you might as we show some due gratitude for the work provided by people who work 80 hours a week.

@tjmarx3 жыл бұрын
International law means it's illegal everywhere. Sperm whales are a protected species. Contrary to what this report told you ambergris is NOT made in the intestine. The most common way to find ambergris is floating as a ball on the top of the sea. Despite this as there is no way to verify whether you harmed a sperm whale in the collection of ambergris, it is illegal to possess, sell or make perfumes using it. Further ambergris was not used as a preservative for perfume. It's use is as a smell enhancer. It makes bad smells, smell good. Perfume companies are supposed to use a fake ambergris alternative instead, but some companies will pretend real ambergris is the fake stuff in their very high end product.

@paganlecter68193 жыл бұрын
"Happy" according to whom? That would require every single one of us to lie to ourselves in order to achieve complete tyranny. There would still be greed arising from the need for sexual competence, beauty is another driving factor, there would be greed among the ones who are engaged in intellectual exploration and, provided that you let youre people to be free, there would be a hierarchy of competence arising from everyone's business ventures. The hierarchical structure is what provided the motivational narrative for action much earlier before humans evolved, so you might wanna be careful with your good intentions

I feel like this shouldn’t be on the news, taking an animal that needs water out of water and cutting it open isn’t something that should be given air time. Perfume industries should also not be adding to this, it’s wrong that these people are on a bad situation it again not a reason to make animal harm a news story

something doesn't add up. a group of poor fishermen went out to sea in a small fishing boat that is smaller than the wale and happened to come across a dead sperm whale. How would these poor fishermen know the first thing to do is check for ambergris? How would these poor fishermen know what ambergris is and the value it will bring when a typical person would not? How would they know who to sell it to? How would a fisherman know how to extract the ambergris?
